Country of origin[edit]

I believe it actually originated in the Netherlands, not the UK. Can anyone provide evidence either way? --Bonalaw 13:36, 9 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I know it originated in the UK, and have seen proof. I can't remember exactly where, though, so I'm off to look... --TheIslander 21:31, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

After being told by a Dutch friend that it originated in the Netherlands, I did a bit of research and found that it did originate from there.

This Press release, from the producers of the show Talent TV states:

"Talent TV acquired the Japanese rights for Test the Nation from Dutch creator Eyeworks, along with those for the UK and Ireland."

This Dutch site also says that Test the Nation began in 2001 in the Netherlands. The last paragraph talks about the BBC in the UK, and other nations, having the format, too.

The original was called "De Nationale IQ Test" in the Netherlands - The Dutch Wikipedia page from this states that it was first broadcast in 2001.Stoosh 00:16, 3 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Spelling[edit]

Since I realised after posting that my edit summary was incorrect, I wanted to clarify why I think the programme spelling should remain. This article as a whole is in British English. (My edit summary suggested it should be that way because the program was British, which, from reading the entry (and the discussion above) I should have known to be false.) - Cafemusique 01:51, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong Link[edit]

The bit within the UK section of international versions says " But at the start of 2007 there was a similar programme broadcast on BBC One called Your Country Needs You" There is a hyperlink on the You Country Needs You however that links to a page about the UK's Eurovision National Final rather than the game show.
