Text Engine discontinued[edit]

From their Twitter page, 10/2/2018: "DISCONTINUED: We regret to inform our users that our service is being discontinued. The technology stack that runs Text Engine was acquired by Cisco, and Cisco is sunsetting this service. We are looking into a migration but that is not guaranteed. Thank you for 5 great yrs!"

Also from Twitter, 10/27/2018: "Text Engine has been discontinued, but we are getting inquiries for purchase. For investor relations, merger or acquisition inquiries, please email info@textengine.info or call Eric Bryant at 908-443-1665."

From an email from their PR department: "The service is being discontinued because the technology used to run Text Engine was acquired by another company and is being discontinued. As far as we know, we were the last service of this kind still around. We have been getting requests from users wanting to purchase our code base and rebuild it for themselves."

There's no mention of how this affects the service in other countries, or if they've sold their code base to another developer yet. --Infinitum11 (talk) 15:37, 26 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
