Vandalizing Details[edit]

This article needs to update on the controvesy on the release of "Thalaivaa" movie due to which the movie suffered huge losses in collecion. Actor vijay itself mentioned the movie is flop in an vijay awards function. the actors fan just want to recreate pseudo history please read references well before updating http://www.kollyinsider.com/2013/12/flop-movies-of-kollywood-in-2013-tamil.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.193.222.73 (talk) 13:43, 16 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Release dates?[edit]

As of this edit we have a release date in the infobox with "France, Singapore and Canada" included. Why is that? There's no content in the article that suggests the film was released elsewhere first. When was the release in India? Cyphoidbomb (talk) 20:06, 12 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Serious tone issues in the Box office section[edit]

In this edit I flagged the Box office section as having tone issues, and serious ones at that. It looks like the mess got started here with "Thalaivaa had a thunderous opening", and the user just went nuts after that. "Vijay Strikes Gold With Thalaivaa At Karnataka Box Office." That looks like it was copy/pasted from here, along with a bunch of other content. I'm going to have to chop most of that section as potential copyright violations. Misinterpretaion of financial data[edit]

72.140.224.197, re: this and this, you seem to be grossly misinterpreting both of the sources you've chosen to use, this and this, and I'm not sure that it's not deliberate. The IBT reference is clearly casting doubt on the claim that the film grossed 144 crore. You seem to conveniently ignore that the headline is a question: "Has Vijay Starrer Earned ₹144 Crore at BO?" Instead, you are focussed on: "Thalaivaa" starring Vijay and Amala Paul has reportedly collected ₹144 crore from domestic box office", which to me reads as an expression of doubt. You also have failed to read the rest of the article, which says: "However, the box office reports published by several websites are not credible ... So, it looks like the collections of the film may not cross ₹100 crore." How do you figure that this clear expression of doubt is a confirmation for the 144 crore figure? Far from it.

The second source asks "Will Vijay’s extremely-anticipated Thalaivaa make it into the elite Rs 150 crore club?" And they are projecting that the film could gross 150 crore, based solely on the confidence of the producer. On what planet would a prediction be equivalent to a determination that the film had actually crossed that mark? We wouldn't even take what the producer said as factual, since they would be a primary source and have a clear reason to inflate their figures. Oh, and you should be aware that this article was written before the film was released. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 21:27, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
