Thales (disambiguation)Thales – The Greek philosopher is not the primary definition, of which there is none. Base name should default to dab. ««« SOME GADGET GEEK »»» (talk) 20:13, 11 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Some Gadget Geek: queried move request Anthony Appleyard (talk) 21:30, 11 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strongly oppose Everything else on the disambiguation page is already a natural disambiguation except for Thales (crater), which is an obscure crater on the moon named after Thales of Miletus, and Thales (painter), who is an obscure ancient Greek painter. Certainly neither of those are any competition with Thales of Miletus, who is widely regarded as the first of the Pre-Socratics and the founder of western philosophy. Furthermore, all of the items listed on the disambiguation page are clearly named after Thales of Miletus, except for Thales, Indiana (an obscure, unincorporated community in Indiana (I live in Indiana and have never heard of it.), which has the name of the state after it to disambiguate it from the philosopher), the aforementioned Thales (painter) (who, as I already explained, is certainly no competition here), Thales Leites (who is obscure outside of Brazil and has a last name to disambiguate him from the philosopher), and Thaletas (who has a different but similar name, which is an obvious natural disambiguation). I do not see how anyone could reasonably claim that there is no primary topic here; Thales the philosopher is clearly the primary topic. --Katolophyromai (talk) 22:14, 11 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose The philosopher is the primary topic.Vpab15 (talk) 22:19, 11 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose No basis for the assertion that the philosopher is not the primary topic has even been offered. --В²C 19:16, 13 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose I have proposed a move of the Commons category but given the importance of this and the other topics as noted by Katolophyromai I think that this is primary by both criteria, Thales Group might be a close competitor on usage if it is called just "Thales" often [[1]].
