Reagan quote[edit]

I think the Reagan quote is a good example of taking someone's words out of context to make it seem like they support something that you are arguing about (as in Quote mining):

  • I occasionally think how quickly our differences, world wide, would vanish if we were facing an alien threat from outside this world. [1]

The question, of course, is whether (A) Reagan really believes in hostile aliens from outer space or (B) Reagan is just using the idea to make a point, i.e., about the need for international unity.

I came across the quote in the recent remake of Disney's Escape to Witch Mountain (1995 film), which through clever editing omitted the context and of course the hypothetical if. --Uncle Ed (talk) 16:03, 8 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong version of Plot?[edit]

Alan Leighton is transformed into "a perfect inhabitant of the planet Theta" in all copies I have seen not a vedlanite as in the plot summary here,(and there is no 2088 date attached to it) some mistake? 81.111.127.132 (talk) 13:47, 9 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
