The Bar[edit]

I think is time for new possible page name change for Cesaro and Sheamus, They been called "The Bar" for long while on WWE Raw and PPV. Its best to change to their team name "The Bar" so we can use on other Wikipedia WWE Upcoming PPV pages. They been called The Bar as a Group and on the tron.

You could open a request for the move and put forward your argument. My feelings are neutral - I just did a quick google of site:wwe.com which (in recent articles) often refers to them as "The Bar" but seems equally happy with "Cesaro and Sheamus" or "Sheamus and Cesaro". Their official online shop (European version) favours "Sheamus and Cesaro". I haven't watched Raw in months but I don't recall them frequently being referred to as "The Bar" on the PPVs, whereas the New Day, the Usos, the Revival and even Titus Worldwide are always referred to by their team names. Cesaro and Sheamus → The Bar (professional wrestling) – Although WWE goes back and forth on what the tag team is called even within the same shot, the wrestlers themselves refer to the team as The Bar, the Titantron refers to the tag team as The Bar, and the merch does as well. I think there is a general preference, both in-universe and out, to refer to them primarily as The Bar (and subtitled "Cesaro and Sheamus") Sceptre (talk) 01:29, 17 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose - The Bar is merely a nickname for the team, not the official name of the team. Therefore there is no reason for the team to be renamed The Bar. Most news articles refer to the team as "Sheamus and Cesaro", but only WWE refers to them as "The Bar". Therefore I'm with 🥇BUS rider2015 against the move. Support - It doesn't happen often, but I actually disagree with Galatz. I'd disagree with the nominators rationale, as what is said on the team's titantton and merchandise is said isn't important, however, they have been known as the Bar for a long time (Over half of their tag team reign, so I feel it matches WP:COMMONNAME Lee Vilenski ^{(talk • contribs)} 08:09, 18 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
- The Titantron and other visual effects can be indicative of the name, however. I will admit that WWE is incredibly inconsistent on how to refer to the team, though; the Titantron will refer to them as the Bar, the on-screen graphic will read "Cesaro and Sheamus", and JoJo will call them "Sheamus and Cesaro" all at once. Oppose - Not every publisher recognizes them as "The Bar". Sure, ESPN, CBS Sports, to name a few, do that, but WWE, as mentioned above, LA Times, PW Torch etc. don't, so there's a lot of inconsistencies. Nickag989^talk 15:22, 18 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
