Lede

  • As the lede should be a comprehensive summary of the article's contents, I suggest including the following content (or versions of the following content) from the below sections so that they are all represented in the lede's prose. Please see Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Lead section for more information.
    • Oxford went into the race as reigning champions (representing "Background" section)
    • Oxford also held the overall lead, with 30 victories to Cambridge's 22 (representing "Background" section)
    • The Oxford crew weighed an average of 12 st 6.25 lb (78.8 kg), 0.875 pounds (0.4 kg) per rower more than their opponents (representing "Crew" section)
    • All but one of Oxford's crew had rowed in the event prior to 1897 (representing "Crew" section)
    • Oxford's eighth consecutive victory and was, at the time, the third fastest winning time in the history of the event (representing "Race" section)

Background

Crew

  • The "Crew" section reads well and its content is verifiable and properly cited with inline citations. The image of Mr. Ward also works well next to the table. The table is beautifully formatted and sourced.
  • Would it be worthwhile to mention what the predominant colleges represented on each team were: five from Trinity Hall for Cambridge and four from New College for Oxford. Just a suggestion.

Race

  • The map is well-formatted and is free for use here. No suggestions or objections to this section.
  • Hi Caponer, thanks for yet another review of yours! I've addressed all of your comments, hopefully to your satisfaction. Cheers, The Rambling Man (talk) 18:24, 17 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
