Music[edit]

Am I right in thinking that an extract of Kraftwerk's "Autobahn" was used as the music in this series? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 135.196.83.176 (talkcontribs) 22:14, 4 October 2008‎

Don't know, but it's unlikely. Kraftwerk would have been pretty well unknown in the UK at the time, and the BBC had its own inhouse musicians that wouldn't cost them royalties. So why pay for outside sourced music that their target audience wouldn't recognise anyway? --Escape Orbit (Talk) 11:02, 5 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The striking electronic score was written by Paddy Kingsland of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. Somewhere there's a really good interview about how he conceived and created it -- it was one of his first commissions, and he went into real detail about how he put it together, including of course creating "the noise". But I can't seem to find the link now. Jheald (talk) 16:57, 19 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Got it! (the interview). It was in the special issue of the fanzine Skonnos on the series, edited by Mark Campbell. The Paddy Kingsland interview is here (via archive.org). I'll add a link to the rest on the main article. Jheald (talk) 17:40, 19 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
