Collaborating Artist List[edit]

First, thanks to User:Joshuah_Hounshell for all the recent edits. I think the article might be improved if each band was only wikilinked once per section, and that each artist had his/her projects listed once also. The only reason I would object is that the way I did it makes it easy for someone to cross-reference other groups that a collaborating artist has been involved with. Your way will still list each "other band", but not link them? Joshuah Hounshell 21:22, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My point is it's redundant and annoying (no offence) to see "*Josh Homme (Queens Of The Stone Age, Kyuss, Eagles Of Death Metal)" at the top of each section. By the time a viewer has read the first volume, they will be familiar with Homme's projects. I'm not sure whether it's best to replace it with "* Josh Homme (Queens Of The Stone Age, Kyuss, Eagles Of Death Metal)" or simply "* Josh Homme" though. A clever solution, perhaps the artist names could be in regular rather than bold though? I still think it's unecessary to keep wikilinking e.g. Queens of the Stone Age for every artist, especially now the space is being used more efficiently.Skomorokh

I think it looks great Reaper X, I think the wikilinks should stay as well. Wiki is all about referencing, it's not redundant if someone is following along Josh Homme in the table to click QOTSA but decides to keep reading and decides to click QOTSA at Troy Van Leeuwen. I appreciate your position that Wikipedia is all about linking, but the Wikipedia Manual of Style directive on internal linking states that link duplication should be used in a new paragraph or subsection, and that the same article should not be linked twice on the same screen, a guidline which article clearly violates.Skomorokh 13:47, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, just spotted this. The fact that a rule is often violated is of absolutely no support to the proposition that it should be violated here. "Everyone breaks it so we should break it" is entirely illogical (not suggesting this is your argument). I think the proliferation of links is redundant, but I agree to leave it for the moment since you both have made worthy improvements to the article and there is no consensus. songs re-released on other albums[edit]

could there be a section on songs from desert sessions that have gone on to feature on the contributors albums

e.g. "Like a Drug" was re-recorded for Lullabies to Paralyse by QOTSA and "I'm Dead" was re-recorded and renamed as "Day I Die" for A Drug Problem That Never Existed by Mondo Generator.

Also: Avon Monsters in the Parasol Jr. High Love You think I aint worth a dollar but I feel like a millionaire hanging tree i wanna make it wit chu in my head... or something

There may be more. I will do it if someone could show me how to present it in a nice table. cheers

Page merges[edit]

I think it may be best to merge the EPs with their matching compilation album. Given how little info is on each page and how each version of the release is basically the same I don't really see how this is not an improvement meant. NDLSS (talk) 02:29, 12 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
