Comment[edit]

I think the article could do with more on the paper's history and reputation for investigative journalism. Stats and facts should be cited as well, who estimates the readership at 1500 if it is Guardian themselves the stat is useless unless they have done more than just guessed/estimated. --cloudo 20:01, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Design Section[edit]

This section was added by an IP user primarily to raise the alleged issue of The Guardian copying the design of this newspaper for their own use without giving credit to the original designers. These claims are entirely unsupported by a reliable source, and rely on pictures from Facebook and a blog, neither of which actually mention anything about this.

Please understand that to include this claim you need a cite from somewhere that can be accepted as a reliable third party. And that cite needs to actually make the claim that the design was copied. Citing two sets of photos from separate places that make no mention of it, and then demonstrating that they prove your claim is original synthesis, which is not permissible on Wikipedia. Pictures for Facebook can also never be acceptable, as the reader can have no sure way of knowing where they came from, what they are exactly, who took them, whether they are mislabelled and whether they have be altered. Facebook is not a reliable source. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 16:09, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

GU Rector Election by students[edit]

[1]

The Rector is nominated and elected by the students of Glasgow University, represents the students to the University Administration and the world at large. The above UR points to an article in the newspaper about the history of the Rector, and the nomination of a sixteen year old female endorsed by the student newspaper. Nominations close in January 2020, elections follow, and the new Rector takes over in March 2020. --Dthomsen8 (talk) 22:09, 13 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
