offer[edit]

In the next 3 or 4 days this school COULD be on the front page of wikipedia. To get there I would need to edit the article to remove bias. Is this OK? Where did all this stuff come from? Victuallers 18:17, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The article could probably be a GA or FA if the sources are tagged and some of the rah-rah is removed. This appears to be this editor's first submission. Spryde 18:40, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This is my first submission. I worked with the school on that article. The admissions group pulled it together for me.--Numont 21:05, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Spryde, well done for your welcome to Numont! Yes its a good article and appears not be a copyvio. I'm hoping to get it on DYK? Want to help? Victuallers 19:25, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sure. What can I do (Haven't done a DYK yet...) Spryde 20:18, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Note: I don't care if this is what I'm writing here is erased, however I work for the school and am also Alumni, the yearbook is called the CAVALIER not the Avatar. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.87.225.178 (talk) 04:01, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi that makes three[edit]

Hi Spryde and Numont. This article is quite close as I have said. Main problems are

  1. lack of references... I have added one about the techer ratio to show how its done
  2. a bit of "rah rah".... the article is pretty good.... but need to have refs when ..you say you are "highly regarded" ... by who ? ... (Note this is an exageration of something the article does a bit.
thats it. Need to search Google .... especially Google books and find some sources. Numont may have access to books etc and pamphlets. If we can add a few refs in the next two hours then I'll put it up for "Did you know" Victuallers 20:34, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

anyone here? Victuallers 21:10, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm here!--Numont 21:11, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Great... does the stuff above make sense? Can you handle the refs?Victuallers 21:13, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I need to read up on refs (the conventions, etc.), then do a Google search. I will do it in the next two hours. Do you have the location handy about references on Wikipedia? --Numont 21:17, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'll try again... I put something up and it was too complex..Victuallers 21:33, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  1. Say I wanted to tell you that we had a newspaper called the times[1]. Then you will notice that there is a little 1. Now if I write a special references tag below then

I made a quick correction, the newspaper is called "The Pulse" not "Pulse" --Jdepalma (talk) 19:56, 29 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

References[edit]

  1. ^ The Times Newspaper published Sept 2007 UK
  • this happens. You have to look at the source to see it happen.

OR

add a list below of the refs you have used to date. Where did your stuff come from Victuallers 21:38, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

it came from the Admissions Director at Harvey. btw - I just added a reference - the second one where Miner goes off and starts a new school. Is it done right?--Numont 21:59, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It certainly is... well done ... many take a few weeks before it clicks. I will propose it now but there is still some stuff that I think is not so valuable. The list of subjects for instance and the stuff about "Course of study"..... if I cut band pasted that into another nearby schools article then would anyone notice? Is this unique to your school? The course of study could do with a ref. well done Victuallers 22:32, 12 September 2007 (UTC) (be back in 20 - don't stop!)[reply]

I'm back.... see here. This should get the article considered for the front page.... they'll tell you! Still time to improve it further to increase the chance of it being chosen Victuallers 23:02, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nice... Spryde 11:11, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, found a few references that could be used:

Any notable alumni or such (Listing the possibilities found during searches...)?

From quick searches, we may want to include something about the ice rink as it appears to be a popular feature of the school. Spryde 11:11, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

more?[edit]

So the article is up to start standard. It can get a lot better. If you want to go further then try the schools project ... they can help. Good luck Victuallers 10:09, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
