Copyright Date[edit]

The film, and its trailer, have an on-screen copyright date of 1971. 108.20.157.144 (talk) 15:24, 8 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I noticed that. That, plus the fact that the opening titles look very much like they were made in about 1971, including a scratchy soundtrack during the opening title sequence, really convinced me that the film was made in 1971, which is why I wondered why Amazon Prime was listing it as a 2023 movie. However, it apparently is a 2023 movie but did all these things to maintain consistency with the film's setting and aesthetic, perhaps to contribute to the immersive experience for viewers, making them feel as though they're truly watching a film from that time period (this is the first time I've ever seen that done).
This is really puzzling, especially since I believe it is illegal to post a copyright notice giving an incorrect date. I would love for the article to explain the rationale, why, and how they did this, and how they were able to get away with it legally (showing a 1971 copyright notice for a 2023 movie).
