The summary is not correct[edit]

To write a summary of this tale is not easy, that's why I give here a chronology of Rudy's life :

1) he lives with his parents probably in Geneva ; his father drives the stagecoach between Geneva and Italy ("through Simplon pass")

2) his father dies

3) his mother leaves with him to go to Grindelwald (canton de Berne) to her father

4) during the travel, she dies during a storm ; Rudy just doesn't die, but he becomes hated by the Ice Maiden, who had hoped to take him in her world

5) he is brought to his grandfather and lives with him during 6 years ; he learns climbing from the example of the cat the language of which he understands perfectly ; he sells toys ; he is alone, and always serious (since his mother's death)

6) when he is aged 8, his uncle (his father's brother) takes him to his home in canton du Valais

7) he learns hunting, etc.

8) aged around 20, he knows Babette (who lives in Bex, canton de Vaud) and falls in love. Etc. Etc.

I hope this can help anybody to write a more correct summary ; the present summary is too "Babette-centred".
