Emppu[edit]

And where is Emppu? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.223.25.125 (talk) 22:55, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why would he be there? He didn't record anything for the release... - Aki (talk) 14:27, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, my mistake. He does. - Aki (talk) 19:05, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Genre[edit]

Whoever keeps changing the genre back to symphonic power metal, please stop. Yes, Nightwish is a heavy metal band, but The Islander has absolutely nothing to do with heavy metal. So before you change the genre back to symphonic power metal, go listen to the song first and maybe you'll see what I mean.74.47.11.154 (talk) 17:20, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK but we don't need a break for only two genres. --Nazzzz (talk) 10:57, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Can we just put celtic rock? We don't need acoustic rock. There's no such thing as electric rock is there? π₰₯ ĬLʡ$Φǚɭђµπt₴ŗ ₯₰π 19:15, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Folk rock as a general term will be enough. Nightwish is not a celtic band, and is the tune celtic is very disputable. Some label "celtic" even Blackmore's Night, who actually mix renaissance english, french and even russian traditional music.Garret Beaumain (talk) 22:30, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Story[edit]

I disagree with the story as is on the page. The lyrics make specific reference to him being the keeper of a lighthouse (video too). To me, the song is saying he's a sailor, who also a lighthouse keep and was once a well known person, but who has long been forgotten by the people. As life seems to have no more use for him anymore, he sets sail on one last adventure.

I think until we get a definitive answer on the story from an official source, it should be removed from the page entirely. As it is, the story currently on the page has the exact same credibility as the suicide theory, which is none, and that has already been removed. Suicide[edit]

Suicide suggestion in lyrics is purely OR by a user. Removed and will always be removed until there's a supporting statement from Tuomas.Garret Beaumain (talk) 22:16, 26 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
