There are approximately ten million books which might have an entry in Wikipedia. Why is this one so special? Richard Pinch 21:37, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Three answers come to mind:     — from SAJordan 20:32, 25 October 2006 (UTC) —[reply]
  • Probably because of the amazing number of people who've undertaken to learn the "alien language" this book defined, not to mention the popular movies and television episodes using it. It's a significant part of the Trekkie phenomenon.
  • There are many other books which do have entries in Wikipedia. Why shouldn't this book be among them?
  • There are many other books which have entries in Wikipedia despite having less influence and impact. How could we justify including them and not this one?

Another dictionary or translation service[edit]

I found another article, Local company creates Klingon dictionary (Nov 17, 2009; by Tara Bannow), that is related to this page. We should see if there are anything more about real-life examples of translating of Klingon to languages or vice versa. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Komitsuki (talkcontribs) 06:23, 21 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Been a while since this was posted, but for anybody who's reading this Talk page: There are plenty of examples of people translating to and from Klingon. Hamlet, Much Ado About Nothing, the Epic of Gilgamesh and the Tao Te Ching are all examples of famous works that have been translated in full and translated in Klingon, Minecraft and Facebook are being translated into Klingon, and new works in Klingon (both original and translated) are frequently posted to the Klingon Language Institute's mailing list. That being said, I feel that discussion belongs on Wikipedia's article on the Klingon language, rather than here. --Tesseraktik (talk) 21:15, 28 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
