Steve Jobs[edit]

Has anyone commented on the fact that Steve Jobs gave a commencement address in 2005 wherein he also acknowledged he had a brush with death from pancreatic cancer, how it colored his perception of life and how people should approach life with that in mind? Needs expansion[edit]

This article is way too short - well, certainly way too little of it is about the book. There are just 3 sentences about the books (the first three - that is, all of the intro section), and the other section is almost completely about the lecture itself. Someone needs to expand this. Addressing the suggestion to merge articles[edit]

Hi there, I note the suggestion by user 76.66.98.222 to merge the articles The Last Lecture and Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams together. I believe the merger to be undesirable and unnecessary, for the two articles at hand deal with different topics; The Last Lecture is about a book (a bestseller), while Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams is on a substantive lecture. These two topics are dissimilar, and it is not practically desirable to group them under a common article. Perhaps the intention of the suggestion was not to merge the articles entirely, but rather to merge certain sections of these 2 articles. In this case, it is justified - you realise that The Last Lecture article does need some cleaning-up and hence, moving information here and there would be good for that article. Wiki Education assignment: WRIT 015- Writing for Others[edit]

Over the next couple of weeks, I will be making improvements to the article. To start, I will be cutting out unnecessary information from the background section of the article and adding important information about his life after the book as well as an overview of events leading up to the publishing of the book. Not all of the information in the background section needs to be removed. The information that is sourced will be rewritten to fit the flow of the article. A majority of the synopsis will be removed. This portion of the article is supposed to strictly be about the plot of the book. I found that there is little to no information in this section regarding the book, rather it goes into detail about the actual lecture itself. I will be splitting the book into sections and recording its contents in this portion of the article. Lastly, the reception section has good information scattered throughout it. What is sourced from a reliable and working source will be kept, as well if the information pertains to the book I will include it. I'm going to also split this portion of the article into sections. One section will be on reviews and the other section will contain facts about the publishing process as well any awards or breakthroughs the book has accomplished. After the sections are completed I will go back up to the intro portion of the article and write a brief overview of the page to prepare readers for what the article entails. I think these edits will bring the article together, by adding important facts and appearing more organized. See my page to check out my bibliography sandbox.
