South Lawn project[edit]

Is the comm. school moving to a new building next to Rouss? I'd heard they were moving into Rouss itself. The University's website seems to corroborate this (this), although I know there have been some changes over the last year and this site hasn't been updated since April. Yeah, seems we do. Your last name is both a) unusual and b) familiar enough that I did a facebook search to ascertain whether you're one of my contemporaries -- alas, you're lucky enough to still be in Charlottesville. Pavilion VIII[edit]

...does house the Guide Service, but it also has faculty residents -- two sets, actually: one group of residents on the top floor (Mike Thrift & Prof. Della-Coletta(sp?) until '05), and there's also a smaller basement-ish residence to the lower east (abutting the garden.) Merge proposal[edit]

Slavery on the Lawn[edit]

Interesting discussion spearheaded by Lihaas (talk)'s comment about slavery. There's been a lot of research in the past ten years about the role of slaves at the University, and some discussion of their living quarters on the Lawn is probably appropriate as part of an expansion of this article.
