Writers[edit]

@Hayman30: You reverted my change to the lead even though it was more accurate, and your justification was that it doesn't matter, but it does. Saying Ariana and Nicki co-wrote it with Pharrell is heavily implying that Pharrell was the lead writer, which isn't true. Writers are credited in order of how much they contributed, meaning whoever is credited first was the lead writer. Also, it was confirmed in TIME magazine that Ariana took the lead on songwriting for the album, so we know she was the lead writer for every song on the album (apart from "Raindrops", which is a cover). @Fan4Life: Saying Grande and Minaj co-wrote the song with Pharrell at no point implies that Pharrell is a lead writer. I don't see why the wording is a problem for you. Writers are not necessarily ordered according to their contributions. Hayman30 (talk) 14:32, 3 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Hayman30: How? It literally says "co-wrote it with Pharrell", that is explicitly saying they were co-writers even though Ariana was the lead writer. Also, writers are always listed in order of how much they contributed (or at the very least the lead writer is first), the only other way would be alphabetically, which would be inaccurate/unfair and is obviously not the case here. Fan4Life (talk) 15:00, 3 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Fan4Life: They all co-wrote the song. Co-write means "to write jointly or in collaboration with another writer", it doesn't downgrade someone from being a "lead writer". Songwriters are not always ordered according to their contributions, that's a false and unjustified claim. Streaming services like Tidal and iTunes often randomizes the order. Hayman30 (talk) 15:12, 3 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Hayman30: Saying that Tidal and iTunes randomise the order is WP:OR. Fan4Life (talk) 23:04, 5 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Fan4Life: Yea, saying that it's ordered according to the artists' contributions is also original search, if we were to go down that road. Are we going to focus on irrelevant matters because you've ran out of arguments? Hayman30 (talk) 23:46, 5 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

New wave genre tag[edit]

The genre tag 'new wave' seems completely misleading here. None of the characteristics attributed to the genre coincides with the sound of this song. Are we sure the author of the article was talking about 'New Wave' or maybe he meant a new wave in 2010s pop music? Solidest (talk) 22:09, 26 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
