Did You Know
A fact from this article appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the "Did you know?" column on September 16, 2019.
The text of the entry was: Did you know ... that Taylor Swift uses Leonardo DiCaprio as an example to explain sexism in her song "The Man"?

Single?[edit]

This Rolling Stone article has called this song a single. Plus the song is included on Tidal's Taylor Swift Essentials playlist, as well as Apple Music's. Just throwing that out there.. Billiekhalidfan (talk) 23:42, 16 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

They called it a single just like that. I don't think they meant single as in a REAL single. Well, lets wait for more publications then. When it comes to singles, we need more than atleast 2 articles to support the claim. And we all know that, in Taylor's case, singles have music videos. Single[edit]

so we ain't dumb I think it's VERY safe to assume it's gonna be the next single (most likely on the 4th of January) like am I wrong? no. Thatssopiggy (talk) 07:40, 28 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It's okay to wait till its announced as a single. So yeah, we'll wait. Until then.. BawinV (talk) 13:49, 28 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Critically acclaimed[edit]

It doesn't seem like the song is critically acclaimed at all? It has a very mixed response and primarily only positive reviews have been included here. Pitchfork for example says "The exception is undercooked gender-equality anthem “The Man,” a song that hilariously, unironically points to Leonardo DiCaprio’s playboy image as the height of masculine privilege, and proves that other people shouldn’t write Kesha songs.".

Good article nomination check[edit]

@MaranoFan, BawinV, Rfl0216, Ss112, and Arivgao: I’m thinking of nominating this article as a GAN. I’ve checked the criteria, and I’m confident the article passes the criteria. Per WP:GAN/I#N1, nominators who are not significant contributors to the article should consult regular editors of the article on the article talk page prior to a nomination, and I’m definitely not a significant contributor to this article, so I decided to ping you all because I think you all are. MaranoFan created the article, Bawin added a lot of text over multiple months, and I’ve seen Rfl0216, Ss112 and Arivgao a lot in the edit history. I don’t exactly know what I’m supposed to consult you all about, but I guess I’m just asking for your reaffirming that the article meets the criteria. I consider you all very experienced editors, and I know most/all of you are GA regulars, so I think this will give me a really clear idea on where the article stands. Please also keep in mind that this will be my first nomination, so if I missed something, please let me know. Thanks! @Doggy54321:, the article is in a good position so in my opinion you can go for it. I would just suggest fixing the links to Yahoo! News and People in the references.--NØ 03:00, 17 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@MaranoFan: Thank you, I’ll fix the two references now. Thanks! D☘️ggy54321 (just shamrockin') 03:02, 17 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
