What is wrong with the article? (Rrozner (talk) 21:52, 3 June 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Notability guidelines at WP:MUSIC#ALBUMS state, "Demos, mixtapes, bootlegs, promo-only, and unreleased albums are in general not notable; however, they may be notable if they have significant independent coverage in reliable sources." This article does not include substantial coverage in reliable, third-party sources. I was unable to locate any. As a result, I started the deletion discussion at Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/The_Mixtape_About_Nothing. If you believe the subject is notable, please add to that discussion. - Mdsummermsw (talk) 12:56, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You obviously have not looked hard enough to find a third party source. If you look at Wale's site, you will find several posts that show where he is popping up in the media, including Rolling Stone and Entertainment Weekly. DO NOT DELETE THIS ARTICLE BECAUSE IT IS SIGNIFICANT. ImJFAT —Preceding unsigned comment added by ImJFAT (talkcontribs) 20:28, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion here will not resolve the issue. Please discuss the nomination at Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/The_Mixtape_About_Nothing. - Mdsummermsw (talk) 16:14, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There's obviously some confusion here[edit]

A "mixtape" is usually a collection of previously released tracks mixed together into an album.

Wale is known for his "mixtapes", but he's made it into something entirely different than a "mixtape", these are full-fledged albums, with brand new debut tracks. This is just as much an album, just because it takes the name "mixtape", which happens to also have a different definition as "collection of previously released tracks", doesn't mean anything.

Sometimes words can have more than one meaning, wikipedians, catch up with the english language. PyroGamer (talk) 17:30, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've just restored the AfD tag to the article for the second time [1][2]. Removing the AfD tag will not resolve the issue. Discussing it at Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/The_Mixtape_About_Nothing will. Thanks. - Mdsummermsw (talk) 16:16, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Question[edit]

should the original titles of previously released songs such as The Cliche Lil Wayne Feature... be included? This is obviously Nike Boots, but someone who hasn't listened to the mixtape might not know that. Beatmastermcfly (talk) 06:49, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I think so. I'm not up enough on the dude to know which songs are which though. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.75.109.22 (talk) 20:09, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
