The North Water (novel)The North Water – Reversing good faith but ill-conceived move to restore novel as primary topic; only other page under this title is the novel's television adaptation U-Mos (talk) 07:04, 18 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion requested by 162 etc.. U-Mos (talk) 21:18, 18 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose, pageviews heavily favour the miniseries; if anything, it would be the more likely primary topic. 162 etc. (talk) 21:57, 18 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • No objection in theory to the series being primary topic, as long as the two-line dab page is removed. For clarity, this page was moved in February 2019 without discussion. I do wonder, however, if there's any precedent for an adaptation of a novel taking over the primary topic from an established article on its source material? U-Mos (talk) 23:07, 18 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Right, but again I'd say the connection between these two articles makes a two-line dab inappropriate. U-Mos (talk) 17:26, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. In the absence of any persuasive evidence that either is the primary topic, the DAB is the way to go. This is exactly why we have 2-way DABs. That the miniseries is derived from the novel is totally irrelevant in terms our article naming policy. Few people will go to it, as both articles already link appropriately to the other. But for those who do get there it is an efficient navigation aid. Andrewa (talk) 16:04, 25 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
