Big tent[edit]

I would question whether TOP is a big tent party. This implies seeking to get the support of as many people as possible. However TOP does not do this - it is instead a collection of fringe interests, ranging from essentially Social Credit, Socialist, to environmental extremism.203.80.61.102 (talk) 02:11, 14 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I tried to edit the 'big tent' comment out but it was reverted without any comment. This is sort of thing that drives people away from Wikipedia. There is absolutely nothing in the reference attached describing TOP, implicitly or explicitly, as a big tent party. It does say that TOP would work with any other party, but that is not the same as a 'big tent' party that fosters many different points of view within it. Should it need a reference though? The Big tent page on Wikipedia describes the label to mean; "...a political party that seeks to attract voters from different points of view and ideologies. This is in contrast to other parties that defend a determined ideology and seek voters who adhere to that ideology and convince people towards it." TOP does not generally care where in the political spectrum an idea comes from, assessing it instead on its merits.

Centrism?[edit]

Reading TOP policy, it truly does not look like they are anymore a centrist party, but a centre-left one. Someone prior mentioned 'big tent' which would also be a good descriptor, however focusing on the centre left. UBI for example is not a centrist policy. TOP is a centrist party. Your assertion that UBI is 'not centrist' is incorrect. It depends entirely upon your frame of reference as to how you interpret the political positioning of a UBI.

Social issues[edit]

What's TOP's stance on moral issues like abortion and euthanasia and the preferred prostitution model or gun rights? Bias?[edit]
