lack of line of accountability

Qt stands for QuickTime, released by Apple USA (including source code) so that Apple users were not blocked by microsoft to view content created on apples on a Microsoft PC.

infact previous wikipedia articles called that out, today it does not, cancel culture has prevailed again

The Qt code was quickly ... "hoarded" and re-released as "open software". Let's not forget where you got it from, OK? Wikipiedia is just full of mis-information these days I don't know why I bother.

Today Qt has grown and matured obviously. Early linux versions were absolutely terrible once in the hands of hackers they cause many void hits and crashes - and focused on ever mutating standards that no app relying upon could count on to not become un-available in the next release.

Hopefully today's Qt is ... beyond the past. But the image of it being proprietary and sold whereas it's real licence is pinned by apple and GPL contributors ... There is ZERO LICENCE to distrubute either QuickTime or GPL without the original source. So. I am doubting this whole proprietary Qt news.

It may be fake news. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:143:480:A4C0:E4F8:991B:314E:B0D7 (talk) 04:16, 13 March 2021 (UTC)
