Title[edit]

I feel the word "Overture" should appear somewhere in the title.

We would never write "In 1931 Barber wrote The School for Scandal", would we? That would suggest it was an opera or a ballet, or maybe even a symphonic poem. The fact that it's a concert overture needs to be made explicit.

Grove V has, under Barber's Orchestral Works, Overture to Sheridan's 'The School for Scandal' (1932), but that's a little unwieldy for a WP article title. Thoughts? -- Jack of Oz ... speak! ... 00:04, 24 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Additionally[edit]

No idea as to the best article title.

Not sure if it's not too much irrelevant information, but the New York City premiere, under Barbirolli, was given March 30 1938 (see Wayne Wentzel: Samuel Barber: A Research and Information Guide, p. 66, at Google Books). 24.59.51.98 (talk) 17:22, 1 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
