Inspiration for the Scousers[edit]

Is it right to say that Brookside was the inspiration for the Scousers? In a video of his (Harry Enfield Undressed), an audience member asks whether Brookside was the inspiration for the Scousers. Merseyside or Liverpool[edit]

Likewise, is it right to class these characters as 'Merseysiders'? Scousers are from Liverpool. Liverpool is only a part of Merseyside and the scouse accent isn't spoken throughout Merseyside. As per the previous post ... 'they were based on...people from Liverpool.' Colin Thomas (Wigan).

I couldn't agree more - Scousers are from Liverpool only - not all Merseysiders are scousers Vera, Chuck & Dave (talk) 20:13, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
