any info on the theme song? — Preceding unsigned comment added by JohnRussell (talkcontribs) 20:06, 15 February 2006‎ (UTC)[reply]

It's a reggae version of Paul Desmond's Take Five. This song was most famously performed by Dave Brubeck, but I don't know who does the version used by Hunkin here. You can find something about the original song here [1]. Another strange thing to note is that the song is backwards - well, what I mean is that the intro music is the end of the song, and the music at the end of the programme is the start of the song. The theme song is by Val Bennett, and is called "The Russians are Coming (aka Take 5)". I'm not sure where it was released originally, but the song can be found on the "Trojan Reggae Chiil-Out Box Set". 69.86.35.18 (talk) 10:22, 26 Feb 2006 (UTC)

Series, Parts[edit]

I feel the way this was described as a "series" in three parts was misleading; they were three distinct series produced at different times. In American parlance, these would be "seasons" (U.S. usage is that "series" refers to all related programmes in all seasons).

Also, to me a "part" is more likely to refer to an individual programme.

I've tried to clear this up without getting bogged down in detail. Fourohfour 14:40, 27 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That's how it's done. In the U.S., TV series are tied to a network's broadcast season. In the U.K., each run is defined as a series number. As this was originally produced and broadcast in the U.K., it should follow the latter's format. — Christopher, Sheridan, OR (talk) 19:29, 22 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright holder?[edit]

Although Tim Hunkin encourages downloading of the show, does he actually have the rights to the show? CardinalFangZERO 03:25, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Very good question, dunno is my answer. To play it safe, I think the link should go - people can still find it through the other link on the page. TheIslander 08:51, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Removal of the link was understandable, but there was no need to remove the paragraph noting his endorsement. Fourohfour 10:39, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

U.S. broadcast channel[edit]

We recorded several episodes when the show was broadcast in the U.S. It was actually shown on The Learning Channel (TLC). My son and I just reviewed the tapes for one of his school science projects and confirmed the broadcast channel. Since I'm new to editing Wikipedia I didn't actually change the article. --Landsturm (talk) 23:29, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, take a look at WP:Be Bold, and go ahead and change it ;) TheIslander 01:39, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Historical Clips[edit]

It's a shame in the article that they didn't talk about the historical TV and movie clips pertaining to the device mentioned. I thought these old commercials and movie clips were a brilliant addition to the program and one of my favorite aspects of the show. DrummerKeech (talk) 19:23, 25 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
