Time of our lives

The album title is "The time of our lives" but the song is "Time of our lives"... there is a difference, no? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Magnus Colossum (talkcontribs) 16:20, 11 June 2012 (UTC)

No, the song is The Time of Our Lives too, but international versions (NON-US) released it as you say, "time of our lives", but the official tittle is the one on the first american edition, witch is THE time of our lives... thanks! --Raúl Romero (talk) 16:44, 30 May 2013 (UTC)

Party in the U.S.A. on the album? For sure?

Bold textid, but where does it actually say that this song is on the EP? Of the sources in the article, nothing lists "Party in the U.S.A." as a track on the album and the MTV news article only says it is "reportedly" going to be on the album. "Reportedly" doesn't mean it will be. Yes the song leaked and there are a few articles about the song and the EP, but I don't see anything linking the two and until something says for sure the song will be on the EP I don't think the song should even be included in the article.--Rockin56 (talk) 18:58, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

On Cyrus' MySpace, the single cover has similar artwork as the EP cover. That doesn't confirm it for sure, but normally, single and album covers use the same photoshoot and look similar. Pokerdance' (talk/contribs) 19:11, 1 August 2009 (U''''Bold text'Bold text'TC)
That definitely helps make it sounds more likely that it's on there, but you can't use that as a reference for saying it's on the EP. As of now the article is set up as saying it's "Confirmed" as being on the EP when it's really not confirmed by any source. The artworks are similar and everything is pointing to it being a single and on the EP but until it states somewhere that "Party in the U.S.A. is a track on the EP," that information in the article can definitely be challenged. I think until there is some source saying it's from the EP the most that should be in the article is something at most saying it's a strong possibility or adding pretty much some of the same info that's in there now but to the degree that it's a strong possibility that it will be on the EP, not that it's confirmed or that it's a single. I wasn't going to change anything until there was some talk first.--Rockin56 (talk) 19:22, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
I never said to use it as a reference.
It's likely to be on the EP, so leave it on there for now unless you can find a source saying it will be released on something else. Pokerdance (talk/contribs) 19:24, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
I didn't mean to imply that you said to use it as a reference, I just said that while it can be seen everythings pointing to it being on the EP, especially because of the similarity in artwork, you couldn't use that as a reference. I didn't mean to imply you as in you, I meant in general. All I'm saying is that it's vulnerable to be challenged because as of now the "Party in the U.S.A." section is an unsourced section in terms of it being "confirmed." It implies that as of right now it's definite the song will be on the EP and like I said there is nothing sourcing that. I think it just should be reworded until there is a source saying it's on the EP that's all.--Rockin56 (talk) 19:31, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

Considering the album is out (in Walmart) now, Party in the USA is confirmed to be on the album 75.51.146.137 (talk) 01:45, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

International Release

{{editsemiprotected}}Please change the text so it includes whether or not the EP will be released internationally or the singles by themselves80.1.96.36 (talk) 09:41, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

Not done: The lead makes it very clear already that this album is exclusive to American Wal-Mart stores. POKERdance talk/contribs 11:43, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

It will be released internationally and not only in Wal-Marts (where they are), you can check this at German Amazon.de or Polish Merlin.pl - the release date for both countries is October 16th. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.205.157.118 (talk) 20:47, 10 October 2009 (UTC)

Clean-up, Copy-editing

I don't understand why this article needs clean-up or copy editing. It follows grammatical rules and doesn't have everything bundled into one section. The tone is neutral, etc. --Ipodnano05 (talk) 15:47, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

I tagged the article mainly because of the Teen Choice section. Just remove the tags, because that section needs to be removed or trimmed because most of that info has been transferred over to Party in the U.S.A..
What is wrong with the section is the quotes? Because I think it should be there, though more summarized and put see also to Party in the U.S.A. where more the rest of the info would be (we still have to send some of the cites there too).--Ipodnano05 (talk) 15:58, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
Since there is now a Party in the U.S.A. article, the whole Teen Choice "controversy" section should not be in the article anymore. The Teen Choice performance has nothing to do with the EP itself more than the fact that it was Miley performing the song off the album. It has to do with a song that has its own article. The information should be left in the Party in the U.S.A. article and the information on this page should be condensed to a sentence or two in the singles section. That's all that's needed, they can now read more at the main song article.--Rockin56 (talk) 18:04, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
Agreed. Liquidluck (talk) 03:02, 14 August 2009 (UTC)
In my opinion, too much information was added to the "Party" article. Unnecessary details like how she made minor changes of the lyrics at the Teen Choice Awards should probably be removed. POKERdance talk/contribs 03:15, 14 August 2009 (UTC)
I already edited the section and left it up to two paragraphs. One saying all the controversy issues and the other of Miley Cyrus saying what her vision of the performance was. I think that should be sufficient enough. --Ipodnano05 (talk) 03:37, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Writing and Twitter notability

Though it is fairly verifiable that "When I Look at You" was produced by John Shanks and will appear in The Last Song, I'm equally sure it isn't the song that Rob Thomas wrote- according to twitters, Thomas visited Savannah about a month before Shanks did, and left a few days later. Also, Shanks worked with just Miley in studio on the song. As it is, saying Thomas wrote "When I Look at You" is a violation of WP:SYNTHESIS. Just thought I would point that out, lest readers think it true and Matchbox 20 fans believe Thomas is on the album. I'd fix it myself, but (truth be told) I'm feeling really lazy right now and article hopping. I figure it can be fixed during clean up, or I'll come back later myself. Best, Liquidluck (talk) 03:02, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Twitters seem to be the source of a couple things regarding this song (When I Look at You) and Twitter seems not be so reliable in some cases. I'm not sure of the verifiability of the song even being the second single as the only source is the director of the movie. The only source is his Twitter statement saying he "listened to her next single" and that he thought it was very good or something along those lines. That was a week ago right when they released Party in the U.S.A. I don't think that should be the sole source for it being a single. The song could be a third or a fourth single if there is one, I mean it's from the movie and the movie doesn't come out until 2010. Twitter seems to provide some skeptical sourcing.--Rockin56 (talk) 03:11, 14 August 2009 (UTC)
Well as far as the Rob Thomas thing it can be taken out because it doesn't really provide any information saying the song is "When I Look at You". But as far for the next single statement, I think that it is reliable because Shankman clearly states he's making a music video for "When I Look at You". Saying that it is her next single confirms that "When I Look at You" IS TOO a single, whether it is released in 2010 does not matter. Time-span between singles doesn't matter. The song will be released here and Shankman saying it is a single from The Last Song, makes it a single for the EP also. --Ipodnano05 (talk) 03:44, 14 August 2009 (UTC)
Well it's better to say "future" single because that's hanging on the edge of verifiability. He doesn't state "This will be the second single." Without another source confirming it being the second single, it's known what single it will be, but if you want to continue this conversation, start up another section, this is to focus on the writing section. I didn't mean to move the focus, I was just making a point about Twitter notability.--Rockin56 (talk) 03:47, 14 August 2009 (UTC)
I think there is no need for such as section, I am ending it right here. I agree, let's just say it is a future single. --Ipodnano05 (talk) 03:55, 14 August 2009 (UTC)
I think, as far as Twitter notablity and use as a source in this particular case, the use would fall under WP:SELFPUB, which says self-published information is allowable as long as it is about the publisher itself. The twitter in question is identifiable as Adam Shankman's (I think we can safely assume Miley Cyrus, whose twitter is verified as official, has been twittering the real Adam Shankman), Shankman is known to be the producer of the movie, and he is referring to himself as director of the music video. Under those conditions, I think we can safely say he is directing a music video for Cyrus for "When I Look at You" and cite the tweet. As far as order, as established above, we can't comment. International release 2

Please change the article so that it mentions the UK release as it says on her official Bebo page. If not, can a specific reason to not put this on, be specified: [1] -- 80.1.98.185 (talk) 17:11, 27 September 2009 (UTC)

Done That is NOT a reliable source, but I found one from the UK Amazon.com and put it. -- Ipodnano05 (talk) 18:01, 4 October 2009 (UTC)

Writing Credits: Kicking And Screaming

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz is given writing credits for her version of the song (all writing credits to DioGuardi, Shanks and Simpson-Wentz (then Simpson) for all tracks on I Am Me). ASCAP also gives her writing credits. However on this page, no writing credit is given. I can't find a source saying that Simpson-Wentz did not write this song/not giving her credit except lyric pages which could have used this site to source their information/aren't a valid source anyway. WikiProject

I am proposing a WikiProject for all matter relating to Miley Cyrus. There are many articles for topics of her music and acting career so having an organized system with proper editors and collaborators would be great. To sign up or support the project please go to Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals/Miley Cyrus. Thank you. -- ipodnano05 * leave@message 18:05, 30 March 2010 (UTC)

Edit request from 19newyork64, 25 April 2010

{{editsemiprotected}} In the "Personnel" section of this listing, a name was entered incorrectly. It is currently listed as A&R Coordinator: Cindy Warren. It should read A&R Coordinator: Cindy Warden. This can be confirmed by reviewing the actual album credits. Thank you for making this adjustment.

assuming good faith on the source (and Google appears to support this fact too), so changed. Thanks.  Chzz  ►  08:45, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

I have no idea how many albums it has sold worldwide, but the album HAS been RIAA Certified Platinum for selling over 1,000,000 copies. Here's the source: [2] —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.116.111.97 (talk) 03:42, 7 May 2010 (UTC)  Done TbhotchTalk C. 03:45, 7 May 2010 (UTC)

Charts

it charted on the billboard digital albums at #13 http://www.billboard.com/#/artist/miley-cyrus/chart-history/772285?f=400&g=Albums, could anyone add that? 24.139.117.90 (talk) 16:11, 7 July 2011 (UTC)

Source?

Can anyone give a reliable source that this is an "EP"? Cause all the sources I have found consider this an album. Ref: Billboards.com: http://www.billboard.com/#/artist/miley-cyrus/discography/albums/772285 Amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/Time-Our-Lives-Miley-Cyrus/dp/B002NBQFYO/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1312736818&sr=1-1 Itunes: http://itunes.apple.com/us/artist/miley-cyrus/id137057909?showBio=1 iTunes calls it a "short ablum" not an EP, just in case anyone misreads that. [3] [4] [5] All sources claim this as an album NOT an EP. Billboards.com, Amazon.com consider it an album, iTunes calls it a "short album" but no where have I found that this is an EP. Another great example is this [6] [7] if it was suppose to be an "EP" Amazon.com would have listed it as such. JamesAlan1986 (talk-contribs) 17:17, 7 August 2011 (UTC)

Oppose — All of the sources you have listed DO NOT say that it is a studio album. And if you check further into Billboard ...then this Walmart Exclusive EP is another confident step in that direction. nding·start 19:27, 7 August 2011 (UTC)

That's a fan review if you check it clearly states: Heather Phares, All Music Guide so since it's a fan review that doesn't make it correct. We all know that. JamesAlan1986 (talk-contribs) 11:31, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
