This movie is similar to the novel The Stranger by Albert Camus in several respects, although it does not contain the same strain of "absurdity" there are several currents running through it which are the same and the movie itself even goes so far as to have a copy of one of Camus's books in the back pocket of the main character at one point in the film.
- I remember seeing the book in the back pocket of Leland's pants as he is being dropped off by his girlfriend's sister's boyfriend, but I didn't catch the title, so it is definately not prominant. How can you be sure it is the title? Rhetth 16:42, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
Congruences with Donnie Darko[edit]
I added some counter Uncongruences of the congruences written about Donnie Darko. While I have seen both movies, they did not strike me as similar except that they both deal with high-school age white middle-class males (although I agree there are congruences). Yet, insofar as they are presented in this article, is there existance meant to support some sort of notion that Leland bit from Darko, or is it the notion that Leland was a tribute to Darko, or what? I think it's important to have a defined theme for that section Rhetth 16:42, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
