article name[edit]

Excellent start to this article. My only complaint at present is the article title; it's a little...informal. But that's easily fixable (once we figure out what the actual title should be). Right now on Wikipedia I know we have links to The Wheel of Time (role-playing game) and Wheel of Time RPG (obv.). Amazon and isbn.nu lists it as The Wheel of Time Roleplaying Game, which is sort of what the cover says. I'd probably prefer the latter as it's official[1], with redirects from both of the others, but I want to make sure I'm not stepping on any toes/missing anything. Yep, 'The Wheel of Time Roleplaying Game' is the official title of the game, thus should be the title of the article. I would have called it that, but someone beat me by creating a 'Wheel of Time RPG' page beforehand.--Werthead 17:41, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah I was about to say we should rename it I didn't have much time when I started the article (which is why it was so short) though I hoped others would help get it started and now it's huge I thing wheel of time: (Role Playing Game) would be best because that's how we named the video game. naturally-evolved sentient species[edit]

"in the novels there are only two sentient, naturally-evolved species, namely humans and Ogier"

What exactly is meant by naturally-evolved? I'm positive the wolves are sentient. Is there something unnatural about them? Are the *finn unnatural just because they are extradimentional? This is confusing because usually natural is used vis a vis artificial (i.e. shadowspawn and other constructs). And AFAIK in fantasy natural does not necessarily exclude extradimentional... --Gherald 17:34, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I was following the convention from the Big White Book, wherein Jordan states that the Ogier are the only other naturally-occurring non-human species known to exist (and the unnamed narrator of the Big White Book does know about the 'finns, suggesting he doesn't consider them 'natural'). The Nym and Shadowspawn are constructs and thus unnatural. Knife of Dreams suggests that the Ogier themselves originate from another dimension as well as the 'finns, but are still a 'natural' race. It's a minor point though and can be clarified. The same goes for the wolves: Jordan himself doesn't count the wolves among the 'natural, sentient' races in the Big White Book either.--Werthead 17:44, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Discontinuation[edit]

I think it should be listed on the article somewhere that this product was discontinued. It's not listed as a WotC product on their website, so I'm guessing they don't make it anymore.
