Problem of the Theater in der Leopoldstadt, the Leopoldstädter Theater and the Carltheater[edit]

I've just started this article and I'd like to explain right away a problem in the literature. This article — at the moment — follows Grove in calling this house the 'Theater in der Leopoldstadt' and describing its development down into a spoken drama theatre connected with Max Reinhardt in the early 20th century.

However the German page [1], entitled the 'Leopoldstädter Theater', treats the theatre as the forerunner of the Carltheater. The English page for the latter seems to support this. No doubt these versions can be reconciled quite easily, but at the moment I don't have all the information to do so. If anyone has sources, please comment here. --Kleinzach 05:37, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I believe it's also often called "Theater in der Leopoldstadt" in German: a third of the "What links here" in the DE Wikpedia come from that redirect; "Leopoldstädter Theater" is the name used by Aeiou Encyclopedia — which is at this moment down, so here is the link to its Google-cached entry. That entry also confirms the demolition and re-building as Carltheater in 1847. Michael Bednarek (talk) 07:01, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
My mistake. I was confusing the Leopoldstadt with the Josefstadt. I've removed the wrong info. --Kleinzach 07:37, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
