WP:SONG failure[edit]

Why is there an article for this song? It fails WP:SONG. It was never released as a charting single as far as I can tell. Nor was it covered by anyone?? Anyone that I can see. This page should be a re-direct back to the main album. 198.164.211.80 (talk) 05:23, 26 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Comment I don't think that this song having an article really hurts anything, although it sure isn't "Stairway to Heaven" or "Smoke on the Water". It has a fair-sized body of text and has a decent number of citations, so it's not like it's a stub or anything.--L1A1 FAL (talk) 21:55, 26 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
True... but there will never be a day when "This Day We Fight" will ever top a "greatest of all time" list such as your 2 examples have. By the notability rules... common album tracks do not get articles. Even if there were a couple of notable covers it might help... but it doesn't even have that. Lots of bands like Iron Maiden, Queen etc have had all their album track article re-routed back to their parent albums... and if there was any salvageable content with refs.. it was copied back there. Some bands... like Led Zep have yet to have that overdue cleaning. Teenybopper fans (and Wiki readers) eat this stuff up. But musicologists looking for valid music related info will just look at this as a fanboy page. It's a cruft piece for Megadeth fans. But not an constructive addition to Wikipedia. And... back to the link.... it fails WP:SONG. Just say'n. 198.164.211.80 (talk) 01:24, 27 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well that's you're opinion, but the fact of the matter is that there are multiple reliable sources regarding the song in question, indicating it is notable. Go check The Beatles articles, nearly all their songs have pages, since they all have reliable sources proving they are notable. I call the big one bitey 00:36, 7 April 2013 (UTC)
