Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because it is about a person who has worked (arxiv.org/1303.7221) on proving the Ryu-Takayanagi conjecture for AdS/CFT, which if proved fully, shows, among other things, that String Theory predicts the entropy of Black-Holes. A professor with a tenured position at a significant academic institution meets WP:PROF, and therefore a claim to that is easily sufficient to clear A7. Tag removed. All we need is a source verifying the post and the notability tag can go as well. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 20:48, 26 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
At WP:AFD, we sometimes hold that a full professor is probably notable, but I think the current situation is one of a tenure-track assistant professor position. WP:PROF gives presumed notability to tenured distinguished professors or holders of named chairs at schools with a reputation for excellence or selectivity. I agree that A7 is probably not appropriate, but I think that notability concerns remain and I'm not sure how this one would fare if taken to AFD.
