Opening notes[edit]

Started this article on a man many consider to be a hero of the Battle of the Little Bighorn.

The overall topic is one of considerable controversy for even cursory students of Gen. George Armstrong Custer and his famous final battle even after over 135 years, so I was surprised to see that Capt. Weir, an important figure in the battle, did not have his own Wikipedia article. This is just a framework, of course, as there are many additional details that could be added. Please use references so that your work is not challenged and/or deleted.

I have a picture I took of Weir Point, but I think an illustration or picture of the subject himself is the first priority. Jusdafax (talk) 00:49, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
