Populated place?[edit]

It's been a few years since I've been to the Tiger townsite, but I'm almost certain it's uninhabited -- the townsite is on BHP property, just north of the old open pit. I noticed someone had recently listed Tiger as a populated place, which I believe to be incorrect. Pete Tillman (talk) 19:05, 5 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That hit a bunch (all?) of the ghost town articles. There was a decision to get rid of a number of categories (including Settlements in Pinal County, Arizona) and replace them (in this case, with Populated places in Pinal County, Arizona). Of course, this makes no sense for a ghost town, which is not a populated place, but the bots were given a task, and they carried it out.
Looking at the discussion, I would say that, for any ghost towns in Arizona that are not populated, we should replace the "Populated place in XXX County, Arizona" category with "Former populated place in Arizona" category. Make sense to you? I'll post this on the WP:GTS page as well to get more input. -- Transity(talkcontribs) 19:45, 5 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Makes sense to me. Thanks for the info. Cheers, Pete Tillman (talk) 20:41, 5 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
