Gauge[edit]

Please confirm the gauge: 3 foot or Standard gauge or Irish gauge (1,600 mm (5 ft 3 in)? — Preceding unsigned comment added by NearEMPTiness (talkcontribs) 16:12, 17 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I was wondering about that one too... Peridon (talk) 17:41, 17 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The text says "It was originally considered to be built as a 3 ft (914 mm) narrow gauge track but then executed as a standard gauge light railway." The TCLR Argadeen locomotive was allegedly 3ft. Can anyone find a reliable source? --NearEMPTiness (talk) 07:07, 19 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I would think it's 'Irish standard' rather than 'Stephenson standard' as this had been Board of Trade ruled for Ireland earlier than the date of this line. Narrow gauge was unregulated, of course. Peridon (talk) 12:55, 19 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The TCLR Argadeen article does say 3 foot, but it also states that the engine resembled a tram locomotive. If you look at Tram engine, I can't see that at all. It looks like a fairly standard tank. The gauge in the picture does look like 3 foot, but it's not easy to tell. Perhaps the gauge change should be the other way round? Peridon (talk) 13:02, 19 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
