Just wanted to say sorry[edit]

I apologize for being such an asshole, I will attempt to be more polite in the future.ACS (Wikipedian); Talk to the Ace. See what I've edited. 22:34, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Four additions[edit]

Unless a credible source is provided stating that Match, Lil Barda, Sun Girl and Choir Boy are future members, they will be deleted from the article. --Basique 17:45, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, but choir boy is wrong. I have a friend who works on the wizard magazine, adn he told me that Choir Boy was an old name, the real name of the character will be Kid Crusader. Check Wizard Magazine that comes out on August 30th for the "Titans East" article, where it states his name is Kid Crusader. --Sp33df0rc3 23:40, 24 August 2006

As of right now, the most official notice on the roster for Titans East would likely be DiDio's own words in DC Nation #22, the entirety of which concerns the nature of the newest incarnation of TE, roster, and the number of the issue heading off their major appearance in the Teen Titans storyline (article found here). According to DiDio, "Pulled together by shared evil intentions are former heroes Batgirl, Risk, the Joker's Daughter, returning villains Inertia and Match, and all-new threats Choir Boy and Sun Girl. The action begins in TEEN TITANS #42." I'd highly suggest sticking to Choir Boy until and unless DC says otherwise, as this roster is still relatively new and up-to-date information. +Bozaloshtsh 08:48, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Change of "Choir Boy" to "Kid Crusader"[edit]

As Sp33dforc3 mentioned, it looks as if indeed there's been a change in the roster, contrary to what Dan DiDio previously released with DC Nation #22, and Kid Crusader does seem to be taking the place of Choir Boy, if Tony Daniel's sketch released by Wizard is any indication. I was considering already changing it on the main page, but it would probably be best to wait until the 30th when Wizard releases the article talking about why Slade chose his particular team. +Bozaloshtsh 18:48, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You know...I would like to wait, but I think we should also mention the character and name in the article. There's always a chance they'll have two religion-themed characters on the team. Plus, with the recent conformation and sketch on Wizard, we'd practically be surpressing information. ACS (Wikipedian); Talk to the Ace. See what I've edited. 20:03, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As i have said before, i know someone on the wizard staff, who gave me the full list of members. The list we have is right (with one or two missing, but i don't like to exactly spoil too much), and it was Kid Crusader, NOT Choir Boy. Choir Boy was the original name, and Kid Crusader is the new name. You may think i'm being a bit excited, but i've also gone ahead and started a "Kid Crusader" article.Sp33df0rc3 22:01, 29 August 2006

You're more than probably right, and I think people will agree with you that the Kid Crusader article is fine. I think after Wizard tommorow, and the article concerning Slade's selection of the Titans East members, it can probably be officially changed. +Bozaloshtsh 03:08, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
However, saying that DC nation listed the character name as "Kid Crusader" is incorrect not matter how you slice it. That, among other uncited edits, is all that I removed/reverted from the article. No matter what motivates your actions, you shouldn't been so thoughtless when editing Wikipedia. ACS (Wikipedian); Talk to the Ace. See what I've edited. 03:13, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Slade's "Titans East" first apperance accurate?[edit]

As the article stands right now, it lists Titans #34 as the first meeting between Robin and Slade's groups, yet the citation leads nowhere except to DCComics.com's monthly comics list. Can someone possibly confirm this through other media? +Bozaloshtsh 18:48, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've corrected it. That issue was long released with no obvious mention of the team. It's not even listed on DC's site. If anything, there may have been a "hidden" reference to th team in that issue, but the statement was more likely a simple inaccuracy or the result of vandalism. ACS (Wikipedian); Talk to the Ace. See what I've edited. 20:03, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Slade membership[edit]

Wizard recently referred to Slade as the team leader. Choir Boy and Kid Crusader are apparently the same person, thus leaving one space open for Slade himself, given sources confirmed an eight member roster. So, the question arises: Slade just a benefactor or someone on par with The Chief and Charles Xavier? ACS (Wikipedian); Talk to the Ace. See what I've edited. 21:28, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cites[edit]

Ace Class Shadow I have provided this NPA link for your edification. And remember that anyone on Wikipedia can edit any page, whether or not they are logged in. If you need a working example of correctly done references you might want to take a look at this. --Basique 19:14, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ha ha. Are you serious? I'm not the one who flew off the handle claiming there was no citation without even looking. That's lazy editting, my friend. Forgive me, but I frown on such behavior and consider it just a bit worse than a lack of manners. Still, I'll take your suggestion under advisement. Maybe if it happens again, I'll just civilly have the next less than thorough Wikipedian's actions looked over by a third party of higher authority. I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants Wikipedia improved rather than thoughtlessly tagged. ACS (Wikipedian); Talk to the Ace. See what I've edited. 20:10, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Third party oversight on this article would be an excellent idea, I strongly suggest you request a review on the Wikiproject Comics Discussion page. --Basique 00:25, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Naming and appearances[edit]

Hey. I thought it best to discuss this here. I notice the latest solicit's got everything a little mixed up. For shorters, the always confusing Duela Dent. Some, including DrBat, have assumed that Duela and "Riddler's Daughter" are now separate characters due to different images of them appearing OYL. Still, if Titans East is any proof, they appear to still be the same and possibly using the name "Enigma"—Original, no?—to commit crime. I'd like to at least mention something in all three articles. (This one, Duela's and "Riddler's Daughter".)

Next, Choir/Alter boy or Kid Crusader. Gah. If they made all his names canon, he'd probably have the most aliases of any character less than a year old (in reality, outside comics continuity,) by his debut. DrBat and CovenantD make good points about not acting hastily there, either.

Bottomline, I'd say leave Duela and the Crusader listed as they were. One image and solicitation shouldn't trump thoroughly established facts. Ace Class Shadow; My talk. 19:23, 15 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. Enigma's listed separately/additionally. Uh...let me clarify further. Last time I checked, Titans East was supposed to be a team of eight, including Deathstroke. Also, let me remind everyone that Duela does have blonde hair. She could easily be this "Enigma, the Riddler's Daugher". Sure, Tony Daniel was supposed to do some big redesign on Duela, but...feh. Let me ask, how logical is it to show all but one member of a team in the team shot? Ace Class Shadow; My talk. 19:46, 15 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sources[edit]

Both solictitation material and preview info from Wizard to should be taken with a grain of salt, used rearely, and cited in detail when used. Simply citing Wizard is not good enough; the magazine is untrustworthy. Wizard articles giving false or misleading information have been cited enough times in Wikipedia that we have to be very specific and reluctant about citing Wizard articles. --Chris Griswold () 15:11, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The errors so far, attributed to using only solicitation and preview material, including Wizard and "DC Nation":
  • Match, Lil Barda, Sun Girl and Choir Boy erroneously listed as members.
  • A character listed both as Choir Boy and Kid Crusader.
  • Teen Titans #34 designated very incorrectly as the first meeting between the Teen Titans and the Titans East.
  • Baseless speculation about Duela Dent.
At this point, solicitations should not be used and preview material should be used sparingly, if at all. This team hasn't even seen print, and the article's looking like fanspeculation.--Chris Griswold () 15:45, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Easy, Christo. Most of the issues have been ironed out. However, we still have the problem of "Riddler's Daughter" versus "Joker's Daughter".
Now, by your logic, it's advised that we not list a supposed separate character as "Enigma", yes? Since I'm not counting on a reason—thanks for the category help, BTW!—I'll just get to removing the extra name. Ace Class Shadow; My talk. 20:31, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

http://titanstower.com/assets/whos%20who/aamembers/individualimages/OYLriddlersdaughter.jpg Duela and Enigma are seen posing together. --DrBat 19:46, 17 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That was random, and tardy. Anyway, that could be symbolic. Don't read too much into images, DB. Ace Class Shadow; My talk. 20:01, 17 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No, it was one of the various photos the Teen Titans had of everyone who joined them during the missing year. And the full image had their names written underneath. --DrBat 21:14, 17 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, here's what we know:
  • Titans East will have a mix of eight members.
  • Duela's getting a new look.
  • Duela's always had the "Daughter" aliases.
  • Deathstroke is apparently leading.
  • Solicitations have notorious inaccuracies abd misdirections.
  • No "Riddler's Daughter" was ever solicitated, let alone as a character separate from Duela.

I don't see your theory as being very likely. I guess we'll know after the actual release of the issue(s). Ace Class Shadow; My talk. 21:54, 17 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's not a theory.
Did you read the issue in question? There was a photo with the two characters together. A photo. Under the image was their two names.
Tony Daniel has sketches for both the characters. http://titanstower.com/assets/gallery/tonydaniel/OYLcharacters/riddlerdaughter.jpg and http://titanstower.com/assets/gallery/tonydaniel/titanseast/jokersdaughtersk.jpg There is nothing to suggest the two are one and the same. --DrBat 00:13, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Should've shown that sooner. Now that is a nice redesign. Hot, hot, hot, hot! Okay, so then...what? Duela was diliberately left out of the most recent solicitation? Keuky. Ace Class Shadow; My talk. 00:47, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Citecheck template[edit]

It appears that editors contest the reliability of a source. Citecheck doesn't cover that situation, only things such as quotes out of context from a reliable source. Please choose a more appropriate template for this article. DurovaCharge! 04:13, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Kid Crusader to Alter Boy[edit]

It looks like yet another name change, and they couldn't even spell it correctly (if they're going for the religious conotation). CovenantD 06:58, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah. I reverted that. I'd leave it as "Kid Crusader" until we get something more concrete. Ace Class Shadow; My talk. 19:18, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Link to "Titan's West"[edit]

The name Titans East is a reference to the time when there was, once upon a time, a Titan's West. Titans West was a counterpart to the original Teen Titans, who were Gotham City based. There were at least 2 formal incarnations of Titans West (with a third Titans West team proposed during the 1990s by Marv Wolfman and a fourth that was sort of referenced in the Titans Secret Files #2). The new Titans West is the latest incarnation of the Teen Titans, but I was curious if anyone has linked or has written up a Titans West entry. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Gsanchet (talkcontribs) 18:56, 5 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

SHB Pic..Leave it alone please[edit]

What is the problem with the titan east pic..when this article was made they used a "crystal ball image" to show the team..the Sun Girl article had promo sketches for her SHB and no one kept reverting these articles say not released not released..the Rachel Summers article has a pic that wont be released unitl DECEMBER..it is hypocritical to apply rules to ONE article when all the others guilty of the same infraction get off freely? Qilinmon 00:09, 19 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Qilinmon, all we have for that special is the cover picture and some promo pages. We do NOT know if these members will actualy be on the team. We should not put them into the article till the issue comes out and we know for sure that these guys are on a team of this name. Most of the stories I have read leads me to believe this won't be the actual roster. Just let it go till we know more please. Spanneraol 00:50, 19 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Slight, very slight mind you, suggestion. Since there is material from DC through actual news sites, it may be reasonable for a short paragraph stating the DC plans to publish the one shot focusing on a new Titans East team. Including the promotional panel.
Major caveats though:
  • No members list. Incorporate any character appearances that the interview(s) mention in the style of "Winnik stated that the story will feature appearances by 'him', 'him', 'them', 'her', and 'her'. (citation)" The cite is absolutely needed and the list should not be exhaustive.
  • No hype. Just the facts.
  • Leave the infobox as is. Put the promo image with the section related to the information.
  • No members list. In the image caption that is. Pest way to handle it is to caption with "Promotional art work for Titans East. Art by ..." and describe the image, if need be, in the actual text of the section.
I'd also strongly suggest putting the sections in publication order: "Titans Tomorrow" (top), Deathstroke's team, Yet to be published Special (bottom).
Come November 14, if the book actually ships on time (I can think of at least 2 Titans related books that have yet to ship), editors can flesh out the 3rd section.
A few other things:
  • Right now, a strong argument can be made for moving the "evil" team out of the 'box and to its section with no replacement being made. None of the teams, "future", "evil", or "assumed" has the weight being a definitive line up.
  • IIRC, there were arguments right up to publication about the "evil" team. At publication it became a moot point.
  • And quite frankly, grousing that "Other articles ignore..." doesn't wash. They shouldn't be doing it. Period.
