Councillors[edit]

There seems to be a discrepancy between the councillor mentioned in the article and those in the infobox. Could do with verifiying the current councillors.Nick Watts 13:57, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

TollerToller (Ward) — The term Toller is used internationally and very commonly to refer to the popular dog breed Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. I'm suggesting it might make sense to rename this article, which is about about a British municipal ward, and make the Toller page point to the page for the dog breed. I'm not sure what name would be best, but am suggesting Toller (Ward). Stoick (talk) 19:13, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As the dog article is not to be located there then a HAT note here would be sufficient. Keith D (talk) 22:41, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Agree. The titles are not in conflict. I've added the dog breed directly to the hatnote. Station1 (talk) 00:40, 8 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ernst Toller is a moderately important figure in history, as well as a playwright, and probably more prominent than the dog breed. So should Toller (disambiguation) perhaps be at the undisambiguated name? If not, I think the current article can stay where it is. Andrewa (talk) 01:43, 8 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think in cases like this, where each article is already at their respective "best" title (i.e., neither the dog's nor person's article would actually use the title "Toller" even if it was free) and the ambiguity is only between a "secondary" use, it's best to address that through hatnotes, or where hatnotes would become too long, through a page using "(disambiguation)". That makes good sense. In any case, the proposal to redirect the undisambiguated name to the dog breed article seems to have little to recommend it, and without this there's no point in disambiguating the ward. Andrewa (talk) 05:32, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
