Nickname[edit]

Does anyone know why he's called "Captain"? Was he an actual Captain of some sort or is it just a nice nickname?Gorovich 22:56, 19 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

He got the name when he took flying lessons. 2005 23:47, 19 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sponsorship and related controversy[edit]

So, should we include a section for his sponsorship with Memphis stripper/adult actress Brandi Hawbaker? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.121.218.43 (talkcontribs) 01:14, December 18, 2006 (UTC).

Here is the url of the Brandi Hawbaker story if needed : [1] —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 84.227.142.226 (talkcontribs) 13:49, January 2, 2007 (UTC).
I think there needs to be something about the Brandi Hawbaker allegations in here, given it is the thing he is most famous for. Sure, nothing has been proved, but providing it is listed clearly as just an allegation, it isnt libelous. This is like a page on O J Simpson that doesnt mention the murder trial.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 86.145.35.125 (talkcontribs) 21:01, July 6, 2007 (UTC).
O J Simpson murder trial isn't the same thing, there isn't a trial here to be reported, If hypothetically, she were to write a book or brought these allegations to a major news organization who then reported them in which it could then be verified that it was Hawbaker who were making them or if legal charges either civil or criminal were to be brought allegedly against Franklin and steaming from these hypothetical charges he were to be put on trial, that then would be coved by the media, in which "we" could use the reports as a source in a reliable way, Then that would be a whole different story, since that's NOT the case these allegations must not be included, see WP:RS, WP:BIO, WP:V, WP:OR and WP:LIBEL ▪◦▪≡ЅiREX≡Talk 00:05, 7 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That's not a very convincing distinction. If criminal charges were brought, then I doubt the media would consider it important enough to cover anyway. In the poker world, forums basically [i]are[/i] the media in most circumstances.
The poker world has several credible, genuine news sources. Forums are useless, and directly prohibited by the Wikipedia guidelines about bios for living people. 2005 20:56, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
