POV Issues[edit]

I removed the following lines as they seem to pretty blatantly violate NPOV (and are unsourced speculation): "Unfortunately EUkip have lacked the moral fibre to seek his resignation as they became embroiled in a series of dubious cover-ups. It is believed by many that Tom Wise has threatened an exposee of EUkip MEPs activities if they cease to harbour him." Terraxos 23:58, 21 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed a large part of the article for the same reason. The old version is available here in case someone can reference any of it. 17Drew 07:39, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Looked at restoring some substance to this article, but all the news I can find is of a generally negative nature, and there is very little information about the man himself available. For example, there's no biography, to speak of, on his website.Biscit (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 13:57, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Also- the old version deleted last May is now not availabel for reference. Biscit (talk) 14:04, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No longer UKIP[edit]

MEP Wise was suspended from UKIP in 2007,[1] left IND/DEM in June 2008,[2] now sits as an Independent[3][4] amongst the Non-Inscrits,[5][6][7] and no longer appears on the UKIP website as a UKIP MEP.[8] Regards, Anameofmyveryown (talk) 02:17, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dodgy staff[edit]

I admit that his staff's affiliations do shed some light on the man, but are they encyclopedic. Noting his own actions as reported in the press is fair enough as the expenses thing seems to be all he is known for. But this looks like tittle tattle, especially without references. Biscit (talk) 11:35, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually I've found no evidence this info is in the public domain, so I've deleted it. Biscit (talk) 11:48, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fraud allegations[edit]

I've created a new section for the fraud allegations - all properly referenced with independent sources. Please do help to expand on this as proceedings develop, but make sure everything is referenced and written from a neutral point of view. Thanks - Alboran (talk) 22:48, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have amended the article to remove anonymous and redundant commentary on Wise's change of plea. The reason there is no ‘evidence’ that Wise changed his plea to guilty because Nigel Farage was due to give evidence against him is simple. The Times extensively revised the article of 5 November 2009 'Tom Wise, former MEP, facing jail for £30,000 expenses fraud' and omitted:

“The former MEP initially denied false accounting but on the third day of his three-week trial, just before Ukip leader Nigel Farrage was to give evidence against him, Mr Wise began a protracted round of discussions with his legal team.” Painstaker 21:42, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
