Kum Ba Yah?[edit]
He also hit in the US with the only charted version of the spiritual "Kum Ba Yah" in early 1969.
No reason to doubt this, but which chart? It didn't make Billboard Top 40. (If it was outside the Top 40, not sure that would count as a hit.) Was it on Cash Box? There are some chart placings listed at ARSA but these are regional radio station charts.
And is there a source for saying it was the "only" charting version? Does that mean in the USA, or..?
Today I've added a couple of references for chart placings. It'd be good to do the same for this one.
