Poorly Written[edit]

Some sections of this article are so poorly written, it's pathetic. Somebody who's interested and authoritative in writing should do this, not just some crazed fan.

Host[edit]

Toni will host for the second season of "Pinoy Dream Academy" (PDA) prime time edition, while host Nikki Gil will be giving updates. Kapamilya Billy Crawford will cover PDA's Uberture. "PDA Season 2: The Dream BIGins" will introduce the 32 hopefuls starting June 9th, after "My Girl." In 2008, Star Records launched her latest album 'Love Is... Toni Gonzaga,' after recent success in her blockbuster movie "My Big Love" with actor Sam Milby. Gonzaga will also make a reunion movie with comedy-actor Vhong Navarro later this year.[1] -- ♪♫Alucard 16♫♪ 23:06, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why a "bibliography" section?[edit]

Can someone please explain to me why Toni Gonzaga has her own "Bibliography" section here? Normally, a biography on Wikipedia will have a "bibliography" section only for books that they authored or wrote. I'm not sure that magazine appearances, whether in the form of articles, interviews or photoshoots, would be considered as part of her "bibliography". --- Tito Pao (talk) 07:13, 29 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of the "Relationship on Bongbong Marcos" subsection[edit]

Hi, @Inarawan1979! After careful consideration I've decided to entirely remove this section you added, based on what I consider severe issues with WP:BLPSTYLE and WP:BLPBALANCE, among other grammar issues.

As for my rationale for removing it even though it included references:

  1. It has not been definitively established by reliable sources that Marcos Jr.'s interview with Gonzaga is only because of her wedding with Soriano. As someone with prior experience in news media, these interviews are almost always arranged between the production staff and the PR/campaign team of the candidate. In the absence of a reliable source saying otherwise, I sincerely doubt that Gonzaga personally invited Marcos for purposes other than political. In whatever case, just citing the video interview itself is insufficient.
  2. The section focuses too much on reactions, criticisms and "backlash" which while present in many news sites, may not actually represent the opinions of anyone but a vocal minority. It also hasn't been established why the interview is even significant in the first place.
  3. Celebrities make political endorsements all the time, but notice how in the articles for Nadine Lustre, Angelica Panganiban or Angel Locsin, their vocal support for Robredo doesn't even warrant a mention. You need to establish why this particular celebrity endorsement is significant among the rest, and back it up using reliable sources.
  4. The fifth line is probably the most problematic, as the choice of words like "disgust" and "disappointment" and the weighted focus on "backlash" clearly points to this as being politically slanted. The subsection claims Gonzaga resigned from PBB due to backlash, but the cited source makes no mention of this at all. The mention of petty Instagram 'unfollows' also just seals everything in my view.

I've decided to remove this immediately without waiting for a discussion as per the guidelines on contentious information in biographies of living persons. Instead, I rewrote the third and fourth lines into a brief mention of Gonzaga's political endorsements and the resulting media attention and responses it has garnered, as described in multiple news articles. I also moved the Marcoleta mention to the career section as the link has more to do with her employment as an ABS-CBN talent rather than her personal life. Anyway, I recognize that the edits were made in good faith and in the future I hope we can be more careful when adding potentially contentious information in biographies, especially in situations where our perceptions of fairness and neutrality might be clouded.

(P.S. Just to disclose, I have zero interest in Toni outside her article being a trending topic and a frequent target of vandalism and problematic edits. I'm also certainly not voting for children of dictators and fascists, whomever those persons may be.) PritongKandule-✉️📝 12:52, 14 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Redundant category?[edit]

I see she's listed in the categories as both a "United Methodist" and a "Protestant". Isn't that superfluous — Methodists are Protestants by definition, so that category on its own should suffice. David Cannon (talk) 13:31, 19 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
