other media?[edit]

I am curious. Have the Torchy Blane films ever spilled over into other media? Usually, in that era, successful films would be adapted for the radio, perhaps also novelised... I can find no information on any of that with Torchy Blane.

Did WB perhaps not have the rights for that, seeing as Torchy Blane is herself based on a male journalist from a series of pulp novels (and one failed radio adaptation attempt)? Maybe, as a writer of novels, author Nebel had a contract that made it impossible for WB to use his ideas beyond the medium of film??
