Reason for Move[edit]

Kala Dhaka is the official name and appears on maps. The name "Black Mountains of Hazara" goes back to the days of the British Raj and is no longer current.

Googling "Black Mountain" of Hazara -Wikipedia gave 325 hits
Googling "Kala Dhaka" -Wikipedia gave 1,180 hits

More Info Needed[edit]

Hey Pahari Sahab, Thanks for starting this Page for the People of Kala Dhaka.

That is a genuine effort on ur part.

What I want is, and I will try to gather info regarding this as well, is Info about the social structure in Kala Dhaka, the main towns, Villages. may be more History. what about the nawab of amb? his imapct on these people?

these things are important and we need to make sure that the people get to know the truth , rather than the myths about kala dhaka that its a place only for Mafroors.
:)

Only just read your comments glad you liked what I have done, I have been adding information to article but most of my editing has been to tidy up what other editors have added to the article and making it more presentable. However I was trying to find more sources for the history.

There needs to be some serious editing of this page especially regarding the origins of the Swati people. The article here seems to suggest that they are not Pashtuns. This is peddling the myth the British started in order to divide the Hazara-based tribes. A survey of writings by various authors in 19th/20th Century gives credance to this assertion as the British feared these major tribes getting together against them. These writings claimed that Tanaolies, Swatis and Jaduns were non-Afghans and thus non-Pashtuns. One has to see these claims against the backdrop of these tribes' and their fierce resistant to the Sikhs. Similar unity against the British would've unhinged their plots in the wider region. This mentality is still prevalent today as those outside of the region continue this very same tactic in the current debate around the renaming of NWFP and the Punjabi PML(Q) led agitations in the main city of Abbottabad. The other actors e.g. Jamiat Ulema e Islai, Jamat-e-Islam have different reasons for opposing the new name i.e. the categorisations of different names for the Ummah. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Moarrikh (talkcontribs) 19:54, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Tor Ghar District[edit]

It has been decided by the Government of Pakistan to include Kala Dhaka in the settled areas of Pakistan and finish its tribal status. Thus Kala Dhaka will no longer be treated as a sub division of district Mansehra, it will be known as Tur Ghar district. I will update the site, once this decission is fully enforced. The better Isazai stock as the the british would call them in comparison to Swaties and that the author has quoted very bravely were called as people of low courage and poor physique during the ambela campaign in Buner and Malakand so lets decide now. The brits won't call you brave without a reason and theu won't call you coward with a reason. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 119.153.212.226 (talk) 09:56, 31 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Name & Language of Torghar[edit]

I think person who is constantly changing this website should be banned for vandelism. Torghar is a pashto word, most of the population is yousafzai and swati, it used to be a tribal area. Even hindkowans website states that most of the population in torghar distict speak pashto (http://the-great-hazara.blogspot.com/p/tor-ghar-kala-dhaka.html). Tigerkhan007 (talk) 18:13, 14 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Also the genious who keep changing the language information fails to see it says otherwise in the tribe section below.Tigerkhan007 (talk) 18:16, 14 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The sad part is that the attached language map is showing torghar as hindko speaking !!!. Tigerkhan007 (talk) 18:17, 14 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Torghar has 24,900 hits on google search. and the officially district is named Torghar and it was a Tribal district of pashtun and no source was found that show hindokowans, gujjar and other peoples live in torghar. in langauge map torghar is shown full Hindokow speaking place and that is wrong and no soource is provided so i remove the map and update the information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 175.106.49.152 (talk) 14:28, 13 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Swati tribe's khels should also be mentioned in Torghar, Majority of the people on the eastern slopes and ridges is the Swati's country!! In Battagram and Torghar more than 95 percent people speak pashto, which is more than in any other district in KPK. Haider khan (talk) 18:57, 2 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
According to my knowledge and being from the same area; there no Swati tribe in the entire Tor Ghar. There are some Gujjars living in Akazai area, who are the tenants of Akazais. Towards the northern part near Thakot; there are Akhon Khels who do not consider themselves to be Swatis. Khan Muhammad Akazai (talk) 07:59, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
