The article needs citation. Some of it is inaccurate. Other parts too vague. In order to cure accusations of racism, I would like to see hard crime statistics and a referent as to where they came from. As a more recent member of the Toulminville community, I can say from first-hand experience that crime in the area is in deed much higher than other (but, of course, not all) Mobile-area neighborhoods. The good news is that the crime levels have seemed to have reached their peak, and although crime is still a fairly significant problem, it seems to have receded in recent years.

Also the claim that LeFlore High is 75/25% black/white is completely inaccurate. To the best of my knowledge it has never reached 25% white. When I attended Leflore in the late 90's it remained under 10% white and current department of education statistics put the white percentage at under 5%.
