– There should not be a dab page when only two articles have this name and when only one of them (musician) is very successful. The other potential meaning is a man who played in only one NHL game. So the musician meets both criteria laid out at WP:PRIMARYTOPIC as he is much more likely than the hockey player to be viewed and gets more page views. Travis Scott (rapper)Travis Scott (musician) – The artist is known for being both a rapper and producer. The current title "Travis Scott (rapper)" covers only half of the roles he is notable for. Per WP:NC-Consistency: common naming for artists, who are both rappers and producers is "Name (musician)", which is used on pages such as Evidence (musician), Havoc (musician), Q-Tip (musician), Oh No (musician), Alias (musician), among others. 2Flows (talk) 19:05, 11 May 2014 (UTC)

Career Beginnings and 2016-2017 is inaccurate and outdated.

"The following year, both Scott and Holloway formed with OG Chess, and formed a group, entitled The Classmates. The Classmates released two projects with Buddy Rich in 2009 and Cruis'n USA in 2010.[6] Scott mainly handled production work on both projects. Later in the year, personal conflicts and financial disputes lead to the disbanding of the group. After Scott left college, Scott moved from Houston, Texas to Washington, New York, where Scott began work with friend Mike Waxx, who owned the music website Illroots. "

The classmates only consisted of Travis and OG Chess, Holloway was exempt from musical relationships with Travis after The Graduates ended. Buddy Rich was only Travis, OG Chess and also Spuf Don. Cruisin USA was only Travis and Jason. Also Chess and Travis did not separate in 2010, they separated in 2012. Scott did not leave college, he dropped out of college and used those funds to move to New York. . Should also include he signed with TI's label and had a meeting with Kanye after contacting his engineer, which led to him signing to GOOD Music as a producer.

Moving on:

"On January 26, 2017, Scott was back in the music headlines after featuring in Migos's hit album Culture, appearing in the song Kelly Price. That same day, Scott announced via Instagram that he was collaborating on a new clothing line with New York-based fashion brand Helmut Lang. This is not Scott's first time in the fashion industry but appears to be only a side project to his music. Scott was spotted back in the studio the day after he announced his new line and is also preparing to go on a tour called Birds Eye View from early June to late August 2017. He performed at All-Star Weekend on February 16, 2017 in New Orleans at Champion Square.[26] According to World Star Hip Hop, Scott has been working on a collaboration album with rapper Quavo of Migos, potentially to be released later in 2017. Scott also performed at New Orleans BUKU Music + Art Project festival on March 10, 2017. In addition to the collaboration album, Scott announced to his fans his third studio album, AstroWorld, named after the defunct Houston theme park AstroWorld, is nearing completion and will most likely be released in 2017.[27] Scott has also been featured on a track from Drake's project "More Life" titled "Portland". The song peaked at number 9 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, becoming his highest charting song as a lead artist.[28]"

Fashion information is irrelevant and appears outdated as it happened over 3 months ago. "This is not Scott's first time in the fashion industry but appears to be only a side project to his music. Scott was spotted back in the studio the day after he announced his new line and is also preparing to go on a tour called Birds Eye View from early June to late August 2017. " This is an outdated sentence still in the present tense. His performances at New Orleans Music Festival doesn't have enough importance to be here.

Scott was featured on a track by Drake's project "More Life" titled "Portland". The song peaked at number 9 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, becoming his highest charting song as a lead artist.[28]" should be the correct form of this sentence. He grew up in Missouri City, a middle-class suburban area bordering southwest Houston. Scott stayed with his grandmother "in the hood" from ages one to six, but later moved to the suburbs,. . .

So, did young Mr. Scott grow up in the hood or in the suburbs? Assuming that the hood was not the middle class suburb. Confusing. Avocats (talk) 22:26, 22 September 2017 (UTC)

Astroworld stampede as a separate section

In light of the ongoing tragedy at the Astroworld Festival and his trending status in the news and other media for it, Scott may well be notable in the future primarily for this event. I have added a section in order to highlight its importance. SALLY 9000 (talk) 02:59, 7 November 2021 (UTC)

@SALLY 9000: I'm not sure I understand how an entirely new separate section can be justified when the mention of this incident in the existing Astroworld Festival section still appears to be very minimal. I recognize the importance, but I believe a sub-subsection makes more sense right now than a separate whole-new section since the incident is directly connected to Scott's Astroworld Festival venture. --Limmidy (talk) 04:29, 7 November 2021 (UTC)
Agreed. Having a separate breakout section kind of looks like an attempt to cover news and current events, not an organized presentation of a person's biography. Logically, it is a sub-part of the Astroworld festival material. - Wikidemon (talk) 07:45, 7 November 2021 (UTC)
As per above; information about the crowd crush is being covered on its own page, the event is part of the festival itself (it's just that Scott is the founder of the festival), and it's only making his name more famous for people not knowing him already, but will still be a very small part of his life, how tragic the event may be. A complete seperate section is NOT justified. Coldbolt (talk) 21:46, 7 November 2021 (UTC)
I think people aren't seeing it because they are looking on their phones, and the navigation section is not expanded on phones, only on desktop.LkeYHOBSTorItEwA (talk) 04:05, 8 November 2021 (UTC)
It isn't necessary to have a dedicated section on the crowd crush as there is already a separate page talking about the incident here. Anyways, this is meant to be a biography on Scott himself not listing the incidents that had occurred during his concerts or festivals. It would make much more sense for it to be talked about on a separate page anyways. Jeuno (talk) (contribs) 08:52, 8 November 2021 (UTC)
In my opinion a brief section in the bio is due, in addition to the article. This is a major incident in his carer, and he is receiving very significant coverage due to it. Pikavoom (talk) 07:23, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
I wasn't being clear before as I had meant how there doesn't really need to be a sub-section talking about the incident; I think a few sentences will be enough to talk about it, and there is already a link to the main page talking about it in the sub sub-section. Jeuno (talk) (contribs) 09:04, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
From a reader perspective the "Astroworld Festival" section now ends with 2020. It would be nice to have a link there to the separate section about the crush below and/or the new page about it. Or at least a sentence that 2021 did happen with a calamity, see below or somesuch. Idk if Houston will allow a 2022 ff version but right now the Astroworld paragraph ends in 2020. 2600:1700:1C60:45E0:1828:E4A6:E72D:729C (talk) 02:10, 10 November 2021 (UTC)

Orphaned references in Travis Scott

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Travis Scott's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "NPR":

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 02:43, 10 November 2021 (UTC)

Travis Scott’s relationship with Kylie Jenner should not appear in the upper boxed portion of Travis Scott’s Wikipedia page, labeled “Partner.” Every other public figure featured on Wikipedia does not have their “Partner” information displayed up top unless they are/have been legally MARRIED. Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner are not currently, nor have ever been married. Even celebrities who have a child together do not have Wikipedia pages like this. Please remove the “Partner” section in the page highlights near the top of the page and keep it fair to all public figures with pages on here. When Wikipedia adheres to that level of integrity, then I’ll consider donating to the organization. If Wikipedia (like many other organizations) is paid off by the Kardashians, I refuse to donate to keep skewed pages such as this one up and running. Until then, I cannot confidently support the use or boosting of Wikipedia. 76.243.189.70 (talk) 05:31, 10 December 2021 (UTC)

Just wanted to hyperlink the Astroworld Festival crowd crush to "a mass-casualty crowd crush" (assuming it's not against guidelines or rules), but the page is semi-protected - it's pretty insignificant, so feel free to disregard if it doesn't need to be done.

I feel like it's not good when it says in Wikipedia that some artists are the occupations in the same order as other artists, but I couldn't edit this page until now. It says here that Travis Scott "is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer" as well as some other artists like Post Malone, Missy Elliott, Lil Yachty, and another artist that I can't remember who is it. That also used to say to Quavo, Baby Keem, Will.i.am, J. Cole, and Lil Tecca. It also used to say that Powfu "is a Canadian rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer" and that SAINt JHN is just American instead of also Guyanese. I added this discussion on my phone and edited it now on computer so I could add the hyperlinks now. I also realized that it says that Will.i.am is also an actor. 87.116.167.193 (talk) 02:01, 31 January 2023 (UTC)

Controversies and legal issues

Travis Scott recently performed in an Italian city and the concert was so wild that nearby residents thought it was an earthquake; what happened? According to XXL Mag, the rapper performed in front of 80,000 fans at the La Maura racetrack in Milan, Italy last week. Since the event had many attendees, most of them jumped up and down as they vibed to the musician's music. Even though some fans were having the time of their lives that evening, nearby residents were shocked as they felt the ground shake to the point that they thought it was an earthquake. Huh?

"asking him to attend a studio for a meeting." Attend a meeting at <which> studio? Was he actually asked to attend a studio?

"Scott moved to Los Angeles, California, after only four months in the state" Is California the state or New York from the line before. This is a bit vague.

And that is just the first two sections.. 30+ more to go Pure Evil (talk) 00:42, 14 July 2023 (UTC)
