Koh-i-Noor Diamond[edit]

The article contains a paragraph stating that this 1846 Treaty "resulted in the famous Koh-i-Noor diamond falling into British hands".
Not true, see Koh-i-Noor, Koh-i-Noor or Koh-i-Noor. The Koh-i-Noor was seized by the British in 1849 on the conclusion of the second Anglo-Sikh War of 1848-9. The Treaty formalising the Annexation of the Punjab at the end of this war was signed in Lahore and is sometimes described as the 'Lahore Treaty of 1849' - for example in the third of the three references given above. This probably explains the confusion.Apuldram (talk) 15:20, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Inaccuracies[edit]

A main source for this article (so far) has been entry for Punjab in the 1911 Encyclopedia Britannica project, so the article repeats some of the inaccurate statements contained in that source. Work is needed to correct these and include reliable references. Apuldram (talk) 12:17, 9 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

all these statements have now been corrected Apuldram (talk) 14:55, 15 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Development[edit]

The errors previously noted have now been corrected and considerable material has been added. Re-rating may be appropriate Apuldram (talk) 14:55, 15 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
