"Shake It Off" eligibility[edit]

The purpose of the ‘Full List’ section of this article is to outline the official results of the countdown, and detail the actual songs broadcast, consistent with Wikipedia entries for other Hottest 100’s. It is apparent that the ‘Ooh22’ account recently registered on February 2nd has only been used to surreptitiously attempt to include non-official tracks on the official list since. The original inclusion of the disqualified track was made on January 28th by another user and was immediately identified as vandalism. I have reverted this most recent change. Please do not revert until this issue has been satisfactorily resolved, because this edit-warring is coming very close to violating the 3-revert rule. The results of the vote, as announced by Triple J, had "Shake It Off" as receiving the 12th highest number of votes. The list here should reflect that, and include a note explaining why the aired playlist did not reflect the votes cast — which is what the current version says. Yes, Wikipedia is not Twitter or Buzzfeed, but it is not Triple J either, and our job is not to reinforce their NPOV point of view. The reality is that this song was voted with the twelfth highest number of votes and the list that appears here should reflect that.

And yes, it is true I only recently began editing Wikipedia after a long period of using it as a reader only. Is the suspicion I received because I'm editing boldly what people mean when they talk about how hostile the cliquish Wikipedia community is to new editors? Mention in the prose is sufficient. There is a precedent here - for example, when the track that reached number 101 is announced by Triple j, it is mentioned separately, but is not part of the list. In 2004, the ABC Mediawatch theme was actually played during the broadcast, at "the position it would have come", but again, was not valid so was not listed in the official list. Hottest 200[edit]

Should the list of songs 101-200 be added to the page?

I don't believe so. It is officially known as the "Hottest 100". Triple J only release the 200-101 songs once a year and they are never made mention of again. Nath85 (talk) 03:30, 2 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Constant vandalism from non-members (IP addresses).[edit]

Hi, folks.

On at least a dozen occasions, I have visited this article to find that a number of the entries on the list have been falsified, and replaced with other entries that did not make the list. I am an avid data collector for music publications such as this, and it is frustrating and disappointing that this keeps happening.

You will see from the article's history that I have on numerous occasions reverted the list back to its correct form. The most recent occasion I was lucky enough to be able to use the 'undo' button before too much other work had been carried out, but most other times I have to go and edit it manually.

May I suggest that this page be locked from being edited from non-Wikipedia members, and if any Wiki members do try to falsify this list, that they be reported for vandalism and be notified.
