Tripoli International AirportQuaser Ben Gashir International Airport — Apparently the airport is named Quaser Ben Gashir International Airport (JACDEC). Mjroots (talk) 15:30, 15 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • That source is a little weak. It uses both "Tripolis-Quaser Ben Gashir International Airport" and "Tripolis-International Airport". Got anything else? — AjaxSmack 02:48, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal[edit]

I propose that the three articles on the same airport be merged--Petebutt (talk) 05:23, 9 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't merge articles. Airports are physical things. Every airport has a (usually three letter) code. If there is any confusion, then resolve the confusion. Otherwise, the fact of a physical thing gets mixed up in temporary news and politics. Anthony717 (talk) 21:47, 9 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Opening and closing of operations (Please help!)[edit]

The news media is, in many cases, obviously wrong about reports of the airport being closed. Numerous plane tracking websites show planes taking off and landing during the times media sources say the airport has been closed. In this case, I think the barrier for entry for sources should be relaxed to include blogs, twitter feeds, eyewitness accounts, etc. It would be cool to include in this article some first hand accounts of planes taking off. The world, rich and poor, is full of aircraft tracking hobbyists who collectively know where every large jet plane is flying or grounded every minute of every day. Please help!Anthony717 (talk) 21:30, 9 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It would also be good to get ATC status during crisis periods. Did some jets land and leave purely under pilot initiative. Sparce schedules make this technically possible.Anthony717 (talk) 21:37, 9 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Airport is still closed as of 30NOV2015 , Main Terminal has been removed.--154.127.77.131 (talk) 22:07, 29 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@154.127.77.131: Thanks for the information of "current" status at the UK page. I just restored your contribution and fixed the citation. Cheers. Historiador (talk) 01:02, 30 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Runways out of service?[edit]

Shouldn't the runways be crossed out to show that they are not operational? Or the IATA airport code? Gentleman wiki (talk) 22:32, 29 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
