BOX OFFICE[edit]

The film is not a Box Office Bomb, it didnt flop at all. Google it. It earned 600.000.000 against a 10 million budget — Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.82.3.1 (talk) 17:38, 24 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

What transpired between Charlie and Annie[edit]

Hello. I had a very interesting 'talk' with another Wikipedian. The person felt that what went on between Charlie and Annie was not rape. The person backed up the claim by saying that until a certain point in the film, Annie did not feel as if she had been raped. The arguments that this person put forth are eloquently explained as the person left a message on my talk page. I just wanted to open this up to debate from the Wikipedia community. Thank you. Hello again. I just want to make it clear that I think that Charlie raped Annie. One of the most important aspects of the film is that throughout most of the movie, Annie does not construe what happened to her as being raped. Part of the importance of the film is that, until very late in the film, she does not realise the extent to which she has been taken advantage of. Thus, in the article, some people have used phrases such as 'Charlie and Annie had sex' as well as 'Charlie raped Annie.' I am putting this on the Talk page in order to reach a consensus on what the article should read. Thank you. (Galaxycat (talk) 17:52, 30 June 2012 (UTC))[reply]

Just to clear up what I said, I never said that I felt what went on between Charlie and Annie was not rape. All I said was it doesn't make as much sense if it's described that way in the beginning of the plot summary when the whole thing is taken into context. I wasn't in any way trying to "hide" the fact that she was raped. But I thought it would be better to save that word until it's mentioned later that she finally admits at the counselor's office that she was raped. I think a fair compromise would be to write that statement as "He then coaxes her onto the bed and has sex with her." so that the phrase is linked to what it really means. Hello. Sorry. I think I misconstrued what you said. I apologise sincerely for that. I just meant that at that point in time, Annie did not feel as if she had been raped. Although, in fact, it was a rape. (Galaxycat (talk) 19:37, 6 July 2012 (UTC))[reply]
