@Girth Summit: - 100% confident it's a reliable source. Basically, it's the same team that ran the now defunct Sports Reference (SR) website. There's more background here. When SR went dead, all the links were archived on WP, and all the athlete's IDs from Olympedia were loaded into Wikidata. Eventually the IOC will "own" the data from Olympedia. Hope that helps.
